Getting In the Holiday Spirit

Whew, I feel like I can finally take a bit of a break. I got all the out-of-state gifts wrapped and shipped of today. What a relief. Now I just have to get through Jack's preschool party tomorrow and all the sandwiches I have to make for it!!

We spent an extra half hour at Michael's so that Jack could pick out the perfect gift for Ethan and Daddy and everyone else on his list.

Here are the photos of our baking weekend. Jack had so much fun and keeps asking when we can make more! We made these as gifts for Ethan's therapists.

Jack got an apron in the mail today from Publix Grocery Store, part of their free kids program. Just in time for more baking!!

Today for occupational therapy the boys made decorations. Ethan did an excellent job and can now peel off the backs of stickers (once you get it started) all by himself. He had the best time (as did Jack) and Shirley (therapist) said that she couldn't believe how well Ethan did. She said out of all her kids his age he did the best. He stayed the focused the whole time we worked on these. Now that I know how well he can do these art projects, I'm going to have to start doing more with him!

Ethan now has a little girlfriend at Jack's gymnastics. She turned 2 in September and they are enthralled with each other. They sat on our laps yesterday and held hands and every time they dropped, Ethan would reach over and grab hers back. It was so sweet. I had a nice visit with the mom too. She told me how when her daughter was first born in the hospital they were told she might have Down's and that she worked with special needs kids and always held a special place in her heart for the Down's ones. A sentiment I hear quite often.

We got our Christmas package from Nana and Granddad in the mail today and it included some toasty gits from Aunt Sherry, as modeled above by Jack. She always finds the cutest things!

Jack is having a hard time getting all these presents in the mail and not being able to open them right away. Good thing we're only a week or so away from Christmas. And until we get our tree when Jason gets home this weekend, our gifts are collecting on our bookshelf!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
