Rain, Rain Go Away...And Don't Come Back Anytime Soon!

We haven't left the house in two days thanks to the 15+ inches of rain we've gotten since Saturday! And Jack's preschool was canceled tomorrow due to the rain too (the first time they've ever closed due to rain). I haven't been on the roads, but from everything I've seen on the TV and read on the internet, it's horrible out there (roads washed away, flooding everywhere, etc.).

Here are a few photos of our yard so you can see how much water we've gotten out here. Luckily we've had no flooding in our basement but in our old neighborhood, a lot of the houses are flooded and cars ruined. People couldn't even leave the neighborhood because of water covering the roadways.

Across the street the little creek has turned into a fast moving river. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our neighbors that it doesn't rise anymore and get into their basements.

We're supposed to get more rain tonight but so far we've had a few hours of nothing, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring. We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking. See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top. Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments. This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!! This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!! Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals.
