Jack's 4th Birthday Party

I've been busy with Grannies in town and planning Jack's birthday party but I know Jason has been missing seeing the boys photos on the blog so I'm up late to make him happy (even though I should be in bed...). So here are photos from today's party.

It was a Cars themed party but this is what you get when you have a 4 year old pick out his cake, emergency vehicles. He actually wanted the construction workers cake but that was discontinued. At least the cake he picked had some type of cars on it.

We had about 10 kids here, which was smaller than previous parties, but it was much nicer. Jack and his new "best friend" Gavin didn't leave each other's side the entire party. Gavin is the son of Ethan's physical therapist and he'd been coming with his mom all summer for therapies so the boys could play and they always got on like a house on fire. We're hoping to get these boys together more often now.

Jack and his grannies, who were such a big help to me today. With Jason gone, I don't think I would have been up to doing this all by myself.

This is a picture of the "pretty striped paper" that Jack "didn't rip" while opening the gift. He was very proud of himself while the rest of us got a little giggle.

Ethan found the recorder and was trying to play it. He was actually blowing in to it from the correct end but by the time I got the camera out he had switched it around.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
