Jack's First Day of Preschool

Today was Jack's first day of preschool. He was so excited and had a great day! Ethan and I walked him into his classroom, saw his cubby hole and then said our good-bye's. I'm proud of myself that I didn't cry (I cry at everything these days!!) and even more proud that Jack didn't. He looked unsure for about a minute but then said "I love you Mommy," and was good.

He had such a great time at school that he's been asking me all day today why he can't go back tomorrow. I keep telling him he only goes Tuesday, Thursday and Friday's but that's not good enough. I guess once he starts kindergarten he'll finally be happy.

Last week Jack and Ethan spent a lot of time playing together in the hallway while Jack did some artwork. They had the best time and stayed occupied for quite a long time.

On Sunday, my cousin Robyn and her son Alex came out for a quick visit on their way from Alabama to the airport. We spent a couple hours with them and the boys played so well together. Robyn used to live in Atlanta and although she's been gone since before we moved here, she makes a great effort to come back and visit about once a year. And now that the boys are getting bigger and can play better together, hopefully they will visit more often.

This is Ethan taking pictures after watching Jack play with his camera. Ethan is doing great with his therapies and we're now working on him going from a sit to a stand. He's quite strong in his legs now so he can do it quite well.

He also just got his two bottom molars! Finally some new teeth. I wish it was his two top teeth, but I'll take anything at this point.

Now we're getting ready for the arrival of Granny on Thursday and Daddy on Thursday or Friday. Jason informed me on Monday that he has been delayed another six weeks for the next class to start due to his shoulder injury. While we're upset that this puts him gone from us longer, we're happy knowing that he's made a huge improvement in these past six weeks that another six weeks might just get him back to his pre-injury state!
Looks like another trip to North Carolina is in our near future!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
