Back to the Daily Grind...

We were sad to see Aunt Delly leave last Thursday but so happy to have had her for a long visit! Unfortunately for me, ever since dropping her off at the airport, I've had to listen to Jack whine about flying to Seattle to visit Nana and Granddad. Every day he asks me to check to see if there's a plane with seats available. Arrgh, I hope this ends soon. Now I have to get things packed up for our trip up to North Carolina to see Daddy; we leave first thing Wednesday morning. We had a nice weekend and had some friends over for dinner Saturday night. They brought dinner and everything! What a nice way to spend a Saturday night. Thanks for the dances, Aunt Delly!

Therapy and Swimming, Oh Yeah, and Playing...

Jack and Ethan spent about 30 minutes one morning playing on Jack's bunkbed. Jack was burying Ethan in his "animal friends" and Ethan was laughing hysterically. Then Jack would pile them up and bury himself underneath them. They did this over and over again and I loved seeing them have so much fun with each other. I hope they continue to play together so well as Ethan get's older. We were very happy to finally get the playset moved over on Tuesday. Since the old house will soon be sold, we needed to get it moved. It had been so long since Jack played on it that it was like having a brand new toy again. The best part for me is the location. I can see the whole thing out the keeping room windows, and when we open the windows, I'll be able to hear and talk to the boys as well. Much nicer than having it at the back of the yard. The kids next door were excited to see it too, as they were over here playing tonight. I'm hoping they will be over a lot to pla

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

Awaiting Aunt Delly

We got a box in the mail from Granny Annie last week and what a great box is was -- full of clothes for the boys! Now I don't have to do any school or fall shopping. We LOVE Granny!!! In the box was a Spiderman swimshirt which goes perfectly with Jack's Spiderman swimshorts, Spiderman swim goggles and Spiderman sandals. Over the weekend Jack and I were busy adding a little color to the yard. We planted some Black Eyed Susan's along the driveway and some Curcuma's in the backyard by the deck. Jack has become such a big help for me and insists that he helps with EVERYTHING! Jack was so cute posing with all the plants!! We also did some shopping over the weekend to pick up some good deals that I wanted to highlight here to help people out, should they be looking at ways to save more. Below is the Kellogg's Fuel For School promotion where you buy 10 items and get a $10 check. I bought mine at Target where I also took advantage of a promotion where you buy 5 Keebler

Good News / Bad News

As most of you know, Jason has been suffering with a shoulder injury and today he was told that they suggest he waits another month before starting the course to give himself more time to heal. So, that's ANOTHER month away from us...but the somewhat good news is that it seems like his unit has had their deployment moved up to February of 2011 instead of 2012. That means that Jason would just join them when he is done training in October or November of 2011, which is less time deployed and closer to be home full time with us!!! But, then again, we're talking about the Army and anything can happen and change at a moments notice. The other upside is that Jason will have a month with nothing to do up at Bragg and no roommate so the boys and I will travel up there for a couple of weeks in August. It will be fun to be up there with him for a bit and experience the active Army lifestyle. Plus, I'm hoping to check out the furniture stores up there and get some ideas of things
