Getting Back Into It

I have soooo many photos and things to share but have had a hard time getting back into the blogging thing. Jason left Tuesday afternoon and we miss him terribly. Luckily, we've been so busy with activities and hanging out at the pool. This should help make the time go by faster! At least until fall -- but then Jack will be in preschool and that will help.

The first weekend Jason was home we had a BBQ. We invited a ton of people, but luckily, it ended up being only a few. It always seems like a good idea to invite everyone but you have more fun when it's more intimate. Anyway, these are the photos from the BBQ. These show our friends that live in the front of the neighborhood. Dan and Jason were in the same Army unit until just recently, but he, too is on active duty and currently only home on the weekends until he get's deployed next year. So Kellie and her girls are in the same boat as me and the boys and we are getting together weekly for dinner (plus hanging out at the pool a lot). The kids get on really well, so it's nice to hang out with them.

We also hung out with our next door neighbors, whom we really liked, only to find out that they are going to be moving soon (within the neighborhood but out of this section). And the house next to them is for sale and the one across the street is under contract. Pretty soon, we'll be the only house in the cul-de-sac that has residents! Anyway, our neighbors have twin 7 year olds and Jason and Hunter have become good friends.

The kids played until about 11p so by 1pm the next day, Jack was exhausted. One of the things Jason caught the kids doing was throwing toys down the stairs to the basement. Now we have a few holes and dings in the walls. Jason was not happy but what can you do?

This is a photo of Ethan's first bubble bath. He really liked it!

Now that we have the projector set up downstairs, Jason and the boys spent all their time down there. It's nice and cool down there. And one of Jack's favorite things to do is race around through the rooms (you can make a nice circle through the theater room, the hallway and the game room). Ethan had fun crawling around and exploring. He found his way into the toy box and spent quite a bit of time in it.

Most of our time was spent at the pool. We would make something for dinner and eat at the pool and then swim and play for about 3 hours before heading home to put the boys to bed. Nothing like sun and playing in the water to wear the kids out and make them sleep well! I have so many pictures of us at the pool that I'll be posting them over the next several days. For now enjoy these.....

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Last Days of Summer Vacation

I'm back...it's been a crazy past few weeks but then what's new. We were dealing with tummy issues for the boys last week and after spending each cleaning up the messes all I could bring myself to do at night was lay on the couch! On top of that, I've been working out 3 days a week for an hour and a half at a time and that has been wearing me out. Oh, and I've started a new business selling Willow House so my free time has been limited. But I've been enjoying it and a happy mama makes for a happy family! Now we're enjoying our last day of summer vacation before Jack starts Pre-K tomorrow, which is the equivalent to what kindergarten was for me back in the day. Jack is excited to get back to school and see his friends and learn "big kid stuff," and I'm excited to get our routine started for the school year. Plus Daddy should be home on Thursday and that will help tremendously! I can't believe he's been gone almost two years. It wi...

My Week

Jason left last Saturday (the 4th) for his two week Army Annual Training and we sent him off with a nighttime treat before he left.  I love this photo of my boys, as they all look so happy and the small ones look so grown up - especially Ethan.  We couldn't pry that cup of frozen yogurt away from him!!  And, as usual, when Jason leaves all hell breaks loose.  Tuesday night we were all getting ready for bed and I was getting Ethan and Wyatt out of the bathtub when Wyatt slipped and banged his chin on the edge.  Normally Wyatt gets out first but this time I got Ethan and that just drove him crazy.  He was jumping up and down and as soon as I told him to stop he slipped.  I thought he had just cut his lip or his gums as I only saw blood but then he titled his head up and I saw his chin - too much of the inside of the chin.  I got him dried off, and kept a washcloth to his chin but knew I needed to get him to the ER.  But the last th...
