Enjoying Having Jason Home

We've been enjoying having Jason home for his two week vacation before he heads off to Ft. Bragg, NC for the next year plus. We haven't done much except for hang out at home and do all Ethan's therapies and Jack's gymnastics class, which we have to change because his teacher told us he was too good for the one he is currently in!

Monday we had to spend the day at home waiting for the UPS driver to show up with our projector for the theater room. They gave us a window of 8a - 7p! At least the repair guys give you a four hour window. Jack had fun waiting around for them - he sat outside and had lunch waiting for him. He finally showed up at 4:30p and Jack couldn't wait for Daddy to get home to set it up.

Jack enjoyed passing the time until Jason got home on Tuesday by reading his train book. He climbs up on the chair to pick the perfect book off the bookshelf and then reads to himself. This kid needs to get into school this fall.

Jack is going to kill me one of these days for posting naked pictures of him online, but he was so cute I couldn't resist. He loves to take showers in our big shower!

Thursday we spent the day in Alabama. We headed out to get some fireworks (can't buy them in Georgia) and to visit the new Bass Pro Shop out there. It was a 2+ hour drive, so Daddy gave in and put a movie on the DVD player for the boys. Ethan watched a bit, but Jack LOVED it. He watched The Secret of Nimh, which totally took Jason and I back to our childhood.

We went to get fireworks with the idea of spending about $300. The place we went to gives you 20% free when you spend $350 so we did and then at check out found out that they give a 50% military discount, so Jason was like a kid in a candy store and we left with over $800 in fireworks. Needless to say, it will be a fun day here on the 4th of July!!

Ever since we got the projector up, we've been watching a TON of movies down there. It's so nice to be able to watch movies in style and everything looks better when it's bigger with surround sound.

We still have just over a week with Jason, which I know will go fast, so I probably won't be posting much over the next few days.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
