Seattle Trip

Another spring night in Georgia -- under another tornado watch! Hopefully I can get this posted before any really bad weather knocks the power out.

Here are some photos and a few stories from our trip to Seattle. I took a ton of photos so it will take a few days to get them all posted.

This was our first day / night in Seattle. Jason, Adele and Grandma Christy came over to visit. The boys were so happy to see everyone.

We spent a lot of time with Grandma Alice and both see and the boys really enjoyed their time together.

Auntie Jake came to visit the next day and Jack LOVED having all these people to play with! Every day he was asking who was coming to visit and play with him.

Ethan had the best time playing with this balloon.

On a visit with Uncle Jason they took a walk looking for Trolls.

One of the best things about Jack is his willingness to help and do projects. Nana asked him to vacuum one day and then everyday after that he asked everyday if he could clean up. Every mess he saw he would beg Nana to get the sweeper out.

Besides helping me feed Ethan, Jack also helped Nana make some cookies. He has always been eager to help me in the kitchen, it's nice to see him cooking with Nana too!

I love these photos (taken by Giesela) because there are so few photos of me with the boys, as I'm usually the one taking the photos.

I love seeing the smiles on Ethan's face and it's nice to have his responding to me captured on camera.

Jack and Nana spent a couple hours "speed reading" a box National Geographics magazines, stopping for everything space related. Ever since we saw the Space Shuttle take off in Florida, Jack has been fascinated by all things space.

Ethan loved standing up holding onto the bathtub. He's been doing a lot of standing holding onto things ever since we've been in Seattle.

Jack got several slivers in his hands while playing outside. We loosen them with a needle, then encouraged him to play in some soapy water to get them out. Luckily having Uncle Jason around to wash dishes with was enough to get Jack playing in the water.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
