What a Busy Week!

This past week has just flown by and I'm back to being terrible about keeping this blog up to date. Apologies from the mom of two busy little ones...

We dropped Grannie Annie off last Tuesday morning and Jack has been asking to go visit from the minute she left the car. So I guess a trip to Phoenix is in our near future! Not a bad thing.

Thursday we celebrated Ethan's birthday again, this time with the playgroup. We had a lot of fun, but there were a LOT of kids in this little living room of ours. But everyone had fun and Ethan REALLY enjoyed more birthday cake!!

I think a tornado hit the room. We did NOT have fun picking this up!
These two boys really LOVE each other...

Saturday we had yet another birthday party to attend but this time it was at a bowling alley and Jack got to bowl his first game.

He really seemed to enjoy it and got upset when Jason or I would help him or even touch the ball.

A quick side note to mention that Jack has given up sucking his thumb!! A few weeks ago we noticed that his thumbs were raw and bleeding (it's so dry here in the wintertime) so we told him he had to stop sucking his thumbs while they healed. Well, he managed to stop to let them heal and that was enough for him to stop sucking altogether. I'm so proud of him and shocked that it only took a few days to give it up!

Saturday was also a big day for Ethan -- he got his first hair cut. He really needed it (and Daddy had been wanting it for weeks). He now looks like a little boy instead of a baby (but I secretly miss his little curls).

He did really well and didn't cry at all!

The other big event of our week was buying a new car. We traded in my Lexus (sniff, sniff) for "The Beast." It's a fully loaded 2006 Ford Expedition. Yes, I am now officially a soccer mom. Or a T-ball mom, as Jack starts practice on Friday.

It's big and has it all and Jack loves it - especially hiding in the very back seats!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
