Visit to the Circus

Jack has loved wearing his new baseball helmet ever since he got it this past weekend. And he's adamant about helping me with projects, so I couldn't help but get photos of him accomplishing both things!

On Wednesday we met some of our playgroup friends and went to the Big Apple Circus. Jack had a blast! We were about four rows up from ringside so we had great seats - although it's a small enough event that no matter where you sit you've got a good view.

It was a bit too loud for Ethan (and me too) so he spent almost the entire time with his arms wrapped around my neck!

Trying to get Jack to smile!
If you ask Jack what his favorite part of the circus was he'll tell you the port-a-potties. We had to make at least four trips! After that he'll say the lemonade and popcorn. But he really seemed to enjoy it all.

Tonight the boys were playing around and I couldn't keep Ethan off of Jack. It was so much fun to see these two interact. Every night Jack whispers good-night to Ethan and gives him a little kiss. There's no question that these two love each other.

Ethan has been doing great at getting up on his hands and knees. He's now pulling himself up on the couch (with help) into a standing position and last night he pulled himself up onto his knees on my knee by himself. It's great to see all the advances he's making right now. Not long until I'm chasing him around too!

Jack normally hates having his picture taken (for the most part) but tonight I couldn't keep him from jumping in front of the camera. Every time I tried to take Ethan's picture, Jack kept saying, "take mine!"

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
