It's been a long couple of weeks and I'm sorry that I haven't posted in so long. I was hoping to share good news with everyone, but as most of you know, I suffered a miscarriage last week. I had gone to the doctor's a week and a half ago and saw a heartbeat, but was told the baby was measuring 2 weeks later than I thought. That was my first sign, but with the heartbeat I was optimistic. However, the next day things changed, so back to the doctor's I went. I was told that the baby had grown in the two days and they could still detect a slight heartbeat (though I couldn't see it) so we were optimistic. I was sent home and put on strict bedrest (BORING) for the weekend and given some medicine. We were feeling good about things until Sunday night. While we're disappointed we've been reassured that we should be able to add to the family in the near future (fingers crossed).
Anyway, due to all that, not much has been happening around here lately. Our neighbor gave Jack his old scooter and Jack has never been happier, outside playing with "my friends." In fact, these days, all he wants to do is go outside or next door to play with the boys. I love the freedom it gives me to get stuff done without worrying about entertaining Jack. My next big project is finding a preschool for Jack to attend this fall.
Jack has been all about helping me with "special projects." This week he helped me make some blueberry banana bread. He did most of the work by stirring everything together so I had to get some pictures of him baking with me, as it's something I enjoy doing so much.
Jack started t-ball practice this week and he loves it! Jason took him out this weekend to get him a batter's hat and he's been wearing all day (for breakfast and to play).
Ethan's been doing awesome and has pushed himself into a sitting position twice by himself in the last week. We're so excited for him. It's amazing the difference in raising a "typical" kid and a "special needs" child. It's more work but so rewarding.
