Springtime in the South

I've been so busy that I have really been slacking on keeping up with this blog. I apologize. Hopefully I'll get better. But, as the boys get bigger, I find we get busier with sports, therapies and just life in general.

Hopefully these pictures of how we've been spending our time will help.

Jack really seemed to enjoy playing the clarinet in the 6th grade band. At the end of the school year he said he wanted to keep playing next year, even when all his friends said they didn't, and then he started guitar lessons this summer and has decided that he'd rather do that and give up band.

Wyatt had a busy year with lacrosse as well. He has become quite good for his age and it's been fun watching him play. He's really good at doing the face off's.

Coach Jason has enjoyed it as well.

Ethan has had another great year and has really become social. We have dinner regularly with two sets of friends and Ethan and Dylan have become fast friends.

This spring we got an invitation to come watch a practice scrimmage for our local professional lacrosse team, Atlanta Blaze. Both Jack and his friend Zac did training with the team's coach and got to train with several of the players, so it was nice to see them engaging with them.

They got to be water boys.

 And got autographs.

Then we celebrated Easter the day before with our friends.

 It was a fun night.

The boys checking out their Easter baskets.

Then Dad took Jack and Wyatt out to fish for the afternoon.

Looks like they all had a fantastic day.

Wyatt playing around and being the silly boy he is.

Some of my spring projects (when I found some rare free time) included sprucing up the yard.

I decided to move our little garden from the corner of the yard to the back of the deck. I was having a hard time remembering to water and pick everything because I didn't see it every day. This has been much better to have the tomatoes and basil where I can see them (and pick them and use them!).

Spring Break brought a much different week for us. Jack was invited to the beach with his friend's family so that left just the two little ones at home. We decided it was the perfect time to update Wyatt's bike as a birthday present.

He really seems to like it.

 Just lounging around...

 Building Legos...

 And playing.

My other little project was to update this wall with some new artwork.

These are some special places for Jason and I and they include Seattle, London, Amsterdam and Prague.

And then back outside to spruce up the front yard.

 With mulch.

 New plants.

 Veggies.

 This face!!

 Some climbing vines.

The water boy status moved with them from the scrimmage to actual games.

 What lucky kids!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
