Spring Break at the Beach

We escaped for a few days down to Pensacola Beach, FL to enjoy surf and sand for Spring Break. We all came home sick, but fun was had to start.

We loved the restaurants down there as they almost all had playgrounds for the kids to play on while waiting for your table or while you're eating but the kids are done.

And I loved that at two of the restaurants we ate at, there were a couple other kids with Down syndrome.

 Beach time!

The water was too cold for me but all the boys loved it.

 Burying Wyatt in the sand.

 Burying Daddy in the sand.

Ethan sliding and Wyatt climbing on the outside of the playset - that kid is going to give me a heart attack for sure!

Ethan had far too much fun to stop and eat.

Evan Jack got up and played - he and Wyatt played tag.

Day #2 we were under a tornado watch so we got in the car and went for a drive to the Navel Aviation Museum. It also helped distract the boys while Jason had a business call to attend.

The boys humored me and stood under the flag so I could get their pictures.

 A closer view.

Our last day at the beach we drove over to Fort Pickens to walk around (we go every time we're in town and the boys love it) and catch a practice of the Blue Angels.

Watching atop part of the Fort.

Ethan's favorite thing is the match the maps with the actual Fort locations.

Then back to the beach for a blended drink and fun on the sand.

I love how they can all amuse themselves now. We also bought a fun paddle board game to play on the beach. Great exercise and lots of fun.

 Surf's up!

It was a fun visit but we were all sick (or getting sick) by the time we left. The rest of Spring Break and the following week was spent recovering from the Flu A & B, an ear infection and a sinus infection. I think from now on we'll spend Spring Break at home - the last two years we've had trips and come home REALLY sick.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
