Ports of Call in Mexico

We had three days in two different ports; Cabo San Lucas for two days and Puerto Vallarta.

In Cabo the first day we made our way through town to Cabo Wabo Cantina - Sammy Hagar's bar. We had a drink and a bite to eat.

My inner rock star coming out!

Cute selfie.

Crazy, fun selfie!

Then we walked farther to find a bar on the beach that Bill and Janine had been to previously.

Hanging out at Mango's Deck Bar & Restaurant.

The view from the deck bar.

The great thing about being on the beach was that you could take a water taxi right back to where the cruise tenders pick you up.

Janine and Bill headed back to the ship while Jason and I headed off on a little adventure to find another local beach. We came across some sea lions on the way.

Beach selfies!

I guess I have no pictures, but day day two in Cabo we headed back to Mango's but this time got there early enough that we got beach lounges on the water and spent the day swimming, sunning, drinking and shopping from the local vendor who would come up to us EVERY. FIVE. MINUTES. to try and sell us something. But we did get a few treasures!

Our second port of call in Puerto Vallarta was spent at Las Caletas Beach Hideaway.

Here we are (NOT getting over served) on the catamaran ride down to the private beach.

It was a beautiful ride down the coast.

Girlie selfie!

Once there they give you lunch, unlimited drinks and all kinds of water sports and activities. Jason headed off right away to do some suba diving while us three had lunch and made our way to the beach.

It was so beautiful and peaceful.

Can you see those floating platforms? They had hammocks and chairs under umbrellas that you could swim or paddle out to - Jason and I paddle boarded out to the farthest one.

Way over there in the water was Jason.

I didn't get any more pictures while we were enjoying the area, as we were too busy swimming, paddle boarding and relaxing in hammocks that dipped into the water along the shore. It was a little slice of heaven!

A few pictures as we were lined up to get back on the catamaran on our way back to the ship.

Once back in town, Janine and Bill headed back to the ship after a long day in the sun, but the ship didn't leave until 7p that night so Jason and I headed off on another adventure.

The plan was to take a taxi into town but once we got in the cab the driver offered to drive us around town to see the sights and give us a little tour. Plus, he stopped in the old town area where we could get out and do some shopping.

This was a little wooden bridge in the middle of the old town area that crossed the river.

It was nice to see an authentic part of town and be able to shop without being harassed because we were in the touristy area. Plus, the items were more authentic and better priced!

After the cab dropped us off, Jason still wasn't ready to go back to the ship so we walked around until we found a small, local bar and stopped in for a drink. It was great for Jason to practice his Spanish and the bartender was a really nice young man who really enjoyed talking to us, and us him.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

My Week

Jason left last Saturday (the 4th) for his two week Army Annual Training and we sent him off with a nighttime treat before he left.  I love this photo of my boys, as they all look so happy and the small ones look so grown up - especially Ethan.  We couldn't pry that cup of frozen yogurt away from him!!  And, as usual, when Jason leaves all hell breaks loose.  Tuesday night we were all getting ready for bed and I was getting Ethan and Wyatt out of the bathtub when Wyatt slipped and banged his chin on the edge.  Normally Wyatt gets out first but this time I got Ethan and that just drove him crazy.  He was jumping up and down and as soon as I told him to stop he slipped.  I thought he had just cut his lip or his gums as I only saw blood but then he titled his head up and I saw his chin - too much of the inside of the chin.  I got him dried off, and kept a washcloth to his chin but knew I needed to get him to the ER.  But the last th...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
