Mama Needs A Break, Part 2

About two weeks after returning from Arizona I was packing my bags again for a quick overnight trip with my Georgia girls to Asheville, NC.

After a long drive we got to the Biltmore House and had an amazing lunch before heading over to the house for our tour.

If you ever get a chance to visit, I highly recommend it.

I was able to get one quick picture before being scolded on not taking pictures inside. Oops. I honestly didn't know it wasn't allowed, although I guess there's not many places you can take pictures...

It was stunning all decorated for Christmas.

Just a few pictures from the grounds.

It was a freezing cold day but sunny and the views around us were beautiful.

Kellie, Kimber and Bobbilin were so much fun to travel with.

This was on the way to the conservatory.

The gardens with the Biltmore House in the background. It's hard to imagine this house for just one family.

Even the lions in front of the house were decorated for Christmas.

 A group photo...

And one more to show the size of the house behind us.

Then it was off to an amazing dinner in downtown Asheville while peeking in a couple of shops. Asheville has an amazing art culture.

After dinner it was time for a comedy bus tour of the downtown area. It was an absolute riot and our stomachs hurt from laughing for two hours non-stop.

We all fell into bed around midnight and slept great before waking up for another amazing meal - brunch in the cutest part of town. Unfortunately the shops weren't open on Sunday or we would have had a lot of fun shopping too. Instead it was a quick stop for coffee before the long drive home.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
