Parks, Parks and More Parks

With the party over, now it was time to enjoy our last few days in Seattle doing what we love to do best -- visit parks!

But first, there were cats to play with.

And blackberries to pick!

Then it was off to all of our favorite parks, staring with Jefferson Park on Beacon Hill.

We were lucky to get Auntie Jake and Aunt Yves to join us.

Wyatt was able to master a few new toys on the playground.

Which, of course, made mom nervous.

But he had his big brother to keep up with.

Both Jack and Wyatt enjoyed the zip line.

And I even managed to get in a few zips!!

I love Ethan's face on this slide.

This picture gets all three boys on the same toy doing their own activity.

Wyatt loved that these monkey bars were closer to the ground than the ones in our park at home in Georgia.

This toy was so high up and all I could imagine was someone falling off and breaking an arm. But Jack did great.

Anther great view of Seattle! There is not a prettier city in the country on a sunny day!!

Another day, another park. This time Nana and Auntie Jake's favorite - Seahurst.

I love that Ethan felt so comfortable with Yves.

Excuse the selfie, but I just love the view of the water!!

We hadn't been to the park since the remodeled it and put in the playground.

I could not get over the fact that there was a play park that close to the water. To be able to enjoy that view while your kids enjoy the playground -- it's almost enough to make me want to move back.

But then it was of to the beach to explore.

And throw rocks into the water -- Ethan's favorite thing to do.

He's so good at it and it's great therapy. I love therapy that is fun play.

And then it was time to look for sea glass - our most favorite thing to do on the Seattle beaches!!

Ethan does love his Auntie Jake!!

LOVE!!

But then he got restless so out came the camera phone for some more beach selfies.

Group shot -- because I loved the little creek behind us that ran down the hill to the sound.

Dad didn't want to be left out so later that afternoon we headed to more beaches!!

Washington beaches are so different from the Florida beaches where we usually vacation.
All those rocks (and sea glass)!!

Last stop was Lincoln Park where we got to watch the ferries come and go as well as look for sea glass.

There were so many fun things to explore, including geese...

And tree roots.

Ethan does not want to be left out of the fun anymore!!

My boys - my heart!

But no matter where the day takes us, there is always time for tablets. I love that the boys make themselves at home when we visit Nana and Granddad, no matter how long between visits.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
