Engagement Party

The day we came for finally arrived -- and it was perfect!
We started off by heading down to the Des Moines Marina for their Farmer's Market. Perfect weather and beautiful setting filled with so many items. We came home with several bouquets of flowers to spread throughout the house and deck.

Normally I take lots of photos of the decor and food and none of the actual party, but this time I was the opposite and took only two pictures of the set up (both of the bar because that was my favorite look) but lots of the guests.

And when you have cuties like these, how can you blame me?!?

I loved spending so much time with my aunts, uncles, cousins and their kids. I miss them so much being so far away, and it's always so hard to gather everyone in one place while I'm in town.

Everyone had a great time.

So much family -- I hope my boys loved being around them all, it's so rare for them to have ANY family, let alone so many at once!!

The happy couple, Jason and Yves.

Cousins!

Time for a toast.

To a long and happy marriage.

Now, let's get back to the real fun!!

This was Jack's attempt at photo bombing Jason and I and it was so epic that I had to keep it.

There are so few photos of just me and Jason so I have to take every opportunity I can get.

The family at the after party!
Cheers to Jason and Yves.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
