I often wonder how Ethan really does at school and how he will adjust to being in a typical classroom as opposed to a special needs one. I know it will be an adjustment and something that his teachers and I will have to work on but I know inclusion is best for everyone.
And the best personal example I can share is that I was walking down the hall at school last week after volunteering in Ethan's classroom and all the second graders were going back to their classrooms from one of their specials (I was able to see Jack too - and extra bonus to my day). One little girl who we had seen out at dinner one night and said hi to Ethan and again in the hallway one morning saying hi to Ethan, stopped me to ask me if I was Ethan's mom. When I replied yes she told me how much she liked him and that he was her favorite.
It made my heart smile!
