Welcome to Fall Y'all

Do you and/or have you started decorating for Fall yet?  I started awhile ago and am still tweaking and adding (we're getting our big pumpkins this weekend) but here is what I have so far....

I bought that big Inspire sign with the intention of putting it in my oldest son's bedroom but decided it would look much better on the built-in's in our formal living room.  But then I couldn't just plop it on the shelf and leave it, oh no, I had to completely re-do the bookshelves themselves.
I had never been very happy with the way they looked (to neat and orderly maybe?) and have been studying every bookshelf I had seen in every picture or house I've come across (copying is seriously the easiest way to decorate your home) so I removed everything and started over from scratch.  I have to say, I'm MUCH happier with the way it looks now.  There is interest and depth where there wasn't before.
I love this pumpkin tealight holder.  I have no intention of adding candles to it, but it might be nice with something of color in it. Leaves perhaps?
I don't know why my photos don't always download in order but when I try to move them around it always messes something up so we're skipping around a bit.

This is a cute rattan pumpkin that lights up.  It's big enough to be its own centerpiece but I did add a few fall leaves underneath it just recently.  And I think it would look good with a few of the tiny pumpkins out in the stores right now scattered around the base of the stand.
Simple yet perfect for the season.  And this will take us from September through Thanksgiving!
I was inspired by a photo I saw on Facebook that had a beautifully decorated sideboard in the dining room so I immediately redid mine and I'm much happier.  I love the new interest and varying heights.

Back to the living room...I tend to put a lot of stuff on my mantel and I really tried to pare it down and make it more simplistic, but I just couldn't do it.  Ha ha ha.  Maybe when I redo it after Christmas I can force myself to do a better job.
This is the other side of the built-ins. It's not too full of fall decor but I have a few pumpkins here and there and some popcorn (unpopped) in a vase - stuff that is easy to change up with the seasons.
A full view of the room.
This is my entryway.  I didn't do much here except change up the items on the table and add a forever fall flower pot below my real plant.  Simple changes that make a big difference.
A close up view of my plant stand.
This is what you see when you enter the front door.
At the base of my stairs I wanted something but wasn't sure exactly what, so I just took a bucket (used for icing drinks) and filled it with all the forever flowers that I've collected over the years but didn't have anywhere to put them.  It was a little low to the ground for me so I took a plant holder and popped the bucket on top of it.  Stacking items is the best way to use what you've got without having to store the items away.
This is another idea I borrowed after seeing a photo on Facebook.  I typically plant seasonal flowers in my plant stand on my front porch but didn't have the time or energy to this year so instead I filled it full of forever pumpkins of different sizes, colors and textures and then tucked in forever flowers and leaves here and there.  I couldn't be happier!!
Your front porch is the first thing people see when entering your home so I always strive to make it inviting.
Another idea I borrowed from a Facebook photo. How cute and easy to dress up your bar stools!  My three year old had fun picking out the hanging items from the store.

I love taking creative ideas from others and using it myself...I never would have thought to use sunflower seeds as a filler for sunflowers in a vase!
I'm very fortunate to have a talented decorator/designer/creator for a friend and neighbor.  She made these cute pumpkin pillow holders for my front porch chairs.
A super simple way to change the look of your home.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm always tweaking things and adding or taking away.  How cute is this Boo burlap banner?  Just the perfect little addition to the front entryway mirror.
I hope y'all enjoyed a tour of my Fall home.  Feel free to take some of these ideas and use them or improve on them yourselves!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
