Back To School

Where did the summer go?  We've been back in school since August 1st (and already I have my first cold) and trying to get back into a routine.  With Wyatt starting preschool this year (he starts next week) all the boys have new school supplies.
At our Teacher Meet-And-Greet I was able to pick up new Abney Elementary shirts for Ethan, Jack and myself.  Every Friday is spirit wear day so we're all covered!!
Don't you just love new school supplies?  This has always been my favorite part of back-to-school.  However, I HATE that the school publishes a supply list on their website but when you get to the meet and greet the teacher has a list that is completely different from what was posted.  In today's day and age, can we not have each teacher post their list prior to the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL? The last thing I want to do is buy it all the night before school starts.
Jack brought these two things home from the meet and greet and the note we read the night before school started solidified that she is the PERFECT teacher for him. It was a little poem about being nervous before school and it had some pixie dust to sprinkle under your pillow to help you sleep and be ready for school.  For Jack, he always gets a bit scared about new surroundings and people so this really helped give him a good night sleep!
 Backpacks all ready to go!
Ethan (still have asleep) ready for the bus on his first day as a big kindergartener!
Jack ready for his first day of 2nd grade!
Wyatt really wasn't sure what to do with himself with his brother's gone.  We've been potty training him and he took this day to have SEVERAL accidents - including one at Target (after I tried making him go to the bathroom and him outright refusing).  Yes, I was THAT mom at the store that day.  Sigh.
Ethan fell asleep on the bus ride home after an exciting first day.
But we're so happy to have our bus driver, Ken, back for another year.  We are truly blessed with wonderful teachers, aids, therapists and others who provide care and teaching to Ethan.
Jack and company made it home safely too.
I was sure glad to have my boys home but I'm looking forward to a great new school year.
And with Wyatt starting preschool and gone for two days a week, I've volunteered to be Room Mom for both Jack and Ethan's classes and I can't wait to spend lots of time in the classroom being as involved as I can with their education!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
