Buddy Walk

Sunday, October 6th was the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta's Buddy Walk and it was a perfect fall day.  It was held at the Olympic Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta again this year.
Jack enjoyed getting his picture taken with the Star Wars characters but when the Superhero's showed up Wyatt would only enjoy them from afar - even though he LOVES them.
But the biggest draw was the bounce houses.
Wyatt made it through the maze and down the slide...
 ...as did Jack...
...but Ethan was content just to play in the bottom bouncy area.  In fact, we couldn't get him out of it!

 We played for awhile.
Then it was time to line up to walk.
 My boys!

This year was great because Ethan was finally able to walk it - in fact we had to run to keep up with him for most of it.

But he crossed the finish line all on his own!

 And got his medal.
Then it was back to the play area for more fun.
Wyatt enjoyed some popcorn while Jack went to play a video game in the game truck.

Then Ethan was off to play in the obstacle course.
 Over and over again!!

He was so proud of himself.
It was such a nice afternoon and we got done early enough that we headed over to the zoo for an hour or so - benefits of being Zoo Members.
It was our best zoo visit ever as ALL the animals were out.
We had seen parts of the lion before, laying on top of his rock napping, but NEVER walking around.  He made several loops while we were watching.

 Then over to the giraffe's.

We got to see them up close too, along with a zebra who was eating right in front of us.
And this was the best view of the tiger we had ever seen too!

Jack took this picture of the turtle.
Then on to the panda bears, which is usually Ethan's favorite that we can't drag him out of.
However this time he was having too much fun swinging from the railing that he couldn't be bothered with the pandas.
This is really great OT for him!!

And I think this was the first time that we EVER saw the snow leopard out.

And then there is the rare Mama Bear, that rarely gets photoed.
It was such a great day!!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
