Seattle Garden Walk

The boys absolutely LOVED playing on Nana and Granddad's deck and loved playing in the turtle sand box (which thankfully wasn't filled with sand - LOL).
By the end of the trip they were having fun hiding inside it from each other.  But it was also great to fill up with all the cars and trucks!
And we always enjoy picnic lunches in the front yard.
We really did have great weather while we were in town.

I think one of my most favorite activities we did while in Seattle was the Garden Art walk.  It's a yearly event where homes open up their yards for people to walk through.  The weather was perfect and Nana and Auntie Jake were the perfect company.  And the boys and I simply loved all the pretty gardens.
 And the art.

 Smiles all around.
 Wyatt loved the turtles.
We enjoyed all the beehives, since we have them ourselves here in Georgia.
And I'm not sure why, but it seemed like all the houses that had beehives also had chickens, which is what Jason really wants but I refuse.  Of course, that just make Jack go crazy asking over and over, when can we get chicken?!?!

So many pretty gardens and homes.
 I love this flower.
We ended the walk with a stop at a playpark for the boys.
Which they didn't want to leave.

Another activity that we did almost daily, was to visit the bald eagles nest down in the valley by the Green River.  There were eaglets in the next and we were fortunate enough to see the parents and then the babies fly for the first time.  It was very exciting to see them so close up.

Not sure if you can see the big nest but it's the brown blob almost directly in the middle of the photo.  We were able to see the adult eagles sitting on the branched before taking off in flight.
Not sure what he's doing, but Ethan was always able to amuse himself.
Maybe he's eating his pretzels under the table instead of at the table - silly boy!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
