The Cornwell Boys Meet Santa

I had high hopes of keeping up to date with this blog over the holidays but I failed and failed miserably.  So now we get to play a long game of catch-up.  Sit down, buckle up and enjoy the ride, as I have A LOT of photos to share!

We kicked off the Christmas season with a visit from Santa.  I knew Wyatt wasn't going to be thrilled to see Santa this year (seems there are very few 18 month old's who don't cry upon seeing him) so I didn't want to invest a couple hours of waiting in line at the mall, only to pay $20 for a picture of a crying child.  So instead, we arranged to meet him with a few of our friends one night after a dinner party.
Love this picture - both Wyatt and Ethan fought over this princess wand.  Good thing Daddy wasn't there with us.  Ha Ha.
After dinner, while waiting for Santa to arrive, the older kids did some crafts...
...while the littler ones ran around playing.
 Here's my "Captain Awesome."

 Santa arrives!
Ethan was super excited to see him and couldn't stay away.
 A little Q&A with Santa.
Like I said, Ethan couldn't stay away from Santa.  Wyatt on the other hand was in my arms in the corner, crying hysterically.
Everyone got a chance to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

This is the closest I could get Wyatt to Santa.  That is pure terror on his face.
Story time -- look who's front and center!
Then Santa passed out a present for each child.  Hmmm, maybe that was all it took for Wyatt.

 Time to open our gifts.
Jack got some Angry Bird items.

 Wyatt got a train book.
 Group photo.
 Family photo with Santa.
Jack, who didn't want to speak to Santa before this, left after giving Santa a big hug!
Look where Jingle James, our Elf on the Shelf, showed up?

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
