Christmas With The Cornwell's

It's funny to me to be posting pictures and talking about our Christmas today, the day we finally got our tree taken down.  What's funnier is that with everything else already taken down, I had a very spring-like mantle display with a Christmas tree you could see in the mirror!
Anyway, we did have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's and were very happy to share our holiday with Nana and Graddad, who visited with us for just over two weeks.
These two pictures are of Jack putting out the presents he got for everyone.  He really enjoyed buying gifts and then placing them under the tree.  That's when you know you little kid has grown up!
Ethan is one smart little cookie - he knows just what to do with Nana's iPad!
Here is Jack putting out the cookies for Santa.  I didn't take as many photos of this as I would have liked, but as is usually the case, we were doing this later than I had expected and I really just wanted to get everyone in bed, know that Christmas morning was going to come early.
Here are the pillow pets that Santa brought for the boys.  How convenient to have this bucket by the fireplace to hold them!!
I really enjoyed my Christmas decorations this year.
How long will it take to get through all of these presents????
There is just something so pretty about a Christmas tree with pretty presents underneath.  I almost hate to open them.
Christmas morning - Wyatt's not quit sure what's going on yet.
Jack and his stocking.
Ethan showing off the one thing he really liked out of his stocking -- a ball!
Then he found a present from Santa and it was over.  We couldn't tear him away from Elmo.
Let the unwrapping begin!
Granddad holding court and opening a gift.
Nana watching!
Ethan loved his remote control car.

Is that another Elmo?
Elmo rocks -- and makes a lot of noise.  Just what the boys love and mommy and daddy don't!
Both Jack and Jason were curious as to what was in that big box for Daddy.
Mommy scored - Daddy LOVED his popcorn machine for the theater room.
Ethan fell asleep snuggled up next to Nana.
Why do we spend all that money on presents when all they really want are the boxes???
Daddy putting together my gift - an entryway bench.
I love it just as much as the boys do!  In fact, Ethan fell asleep on it the first day and napped there for over an hour.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got everything you wanted.  I feel truly blessed with my three boys and my wonderful husband.  I really couldn't ask for more!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
