First Week Down ... Many More To Go

What a week! It was surprisingly easy to get back into a routine with these boys with Daddy around. I'm trying not to keep us too busy so that we have time to just hang out at home and play. But between the sports, playgroups and Ethan's therapies, there doesn't seem to be that much free time!!

Jack has become fascinated with helping me in the kitchen.

I can't believe Ethan is almost a year old! How time flies. He's been doing great with his therapies and is progressing wonderfully. I often think how much we take for granted with a typical child and how much work it is with Ethan, but it is so worth it to see how well he does and how HAPPY he is.

Can we go back to England today???

Ethan has become quite the camera hog. As soon as he sees it on and pointed at him, a big smile spreads across his face. It's hilarious!

These boys LOVE playing together and every morning Jack tells me that he'll watch Ethan while I finish getting ready. And I can get LOTS done while they occupy each other. Maybe that's why it's been so easy having Jason gone during the week.

Physical therapy has been going great and Ethan is trying to copy everything we do and say these days. As for speech therapy, his therapist says she hasn't seen anyone take to table food quite as easily as Ethan has, which is great. She's now going to be coming once a week for 45 minutes (instead of every other week for 30 minutes) and spending 15 minutes on eating issues and 30 minutes on speaking. I'm excited to see what kind of progress he makes.

Jason was able to come home for the weekend and even though he was busy with studying, research and writing a paper, he took some time to do a road march and let Jack come along with him. Jack made it all the way around the block and told me his legs needed a break when he got home.

We spent some time up at a Civil War battlefield, Picketts Mill, over the weekend (forgot the camera) so Jason could do some research for a paper and Jack had the best time. It was about a mile hike (there and back) to a cabin where the park ranger or historian was able to answer some questions and Jack could run around.

The weekend has come to a quick end but we're looking forward to having Daddy home for a four day weekend next week. Time to pick up all the toys and head to bed!!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
