Fun and Sun at the Beach

What a busy few days we've had doing basically nothing!! The weather has been so nice lately that we've mainly spent time at the beach.

Yesterday Jack and Nana built lots of sandcastles up and down the beach - there must have been half a dozen or more - each one with a flag (sticks) or two in them and a moat. He had a blast.

Ethan wasn't too sure of the beach andcean the first time he was on it. He became very clingy and didn't want to be sat down on the blanket. Every time I did, he would turn himself around and reach out for me. Then, when holding him, if you tried to turn him around to look out, he would turn around and cling on to me and Nana. I think it was a bit to loud with the waves crashing onto the beach and a bit too windy. Today he did much better!

Last night, Friday, was very exciting for us as they had a Space Shuttle launch at 7:55p. The weather was really clear and we could actually see it from our beachfront timeshare.

We gathered around the TV to watch the pre-launch info and could hear the go - no go for launch check list and hear the space commander give the go ahead to the astronauts. Then we watched the shuttle take off on the TV, then we stepped outside and saw the shuttle flying through the sky. I've never seen a shuttle launch before and it was amazing! Everyone from the timeshare was out watching it too.

This was definitely the highlight of the trip for me - and I think for Jack, too!

Today we just mooched around and then drove down to see a lighthouse down the road. Jack seemed to really like it - although we didn't climb up it - too many steps for a 3 year old!

The boys have really been enjoying themselves and, as you can see, Ethan has been full of smiles for his grandparents.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back. ...
