Daytona Beach, Florida

We had a very successful trip down in the car from Atlanta to Daytona Beach on Tuesday. We left around 9:30a and arrived about 7:30p. We had 4 stops, two of which were quick gas and bathroom stops.

Here we stopped just over the boarder of Florida and had some fresh Florida orange juice. Jack loved it! We spent about an hour here letting Jack run around and get his wiggles out, which gave me a chance to feed Ethan and let him roll around on the grass and get his wiggles out, too!!

It was dark when we arrived, but we still had to check out the ocean. Jack wasn't quite sure what to make of it but since we've now seen it in the daytime, we go out each night and say goodnight to the ocean.

While we are on vacation, as you can see, I'm still busy checking out my coupons! I can't go to the grocery store without first checking what's on sale and how I can get the best deal. It's much harder to do when you're picking foods to eat for a two week trip, as opposed to stocking up your pantry at home. But still, I try to do the best I can. Every penny saved on food is a penny to spend on the fun stuff!

There's no carpet in our room so I have to be careful about not letting Ethan sit unless I'm right there, as he still does occasionally fall backward, but as you can see, he still loves to play on his belly. Although, these days he's mostly trying to push up on his hands and knees.

You looking at me?
Just chilling out, Mom!

There is a park that we've been taking the boys to every afternoon as a break in the day. Jack has been having a blast playing on the toys and today was having fun playing some kind of game with two other kids that were there. Hard to believe this was my shy, cling to mommy boy.

Jack LOVES this little car. It's the first thing he runs to when we get to the park. Daytona 500, here he comes.

Jack and I made it to the beach today for a few minutes. He wasn't too sure about getting his toes in the water, but he brought his shovel and was digging little holes all the way to the shore and back.

Both boys have been having a blast playing with Nana and Grandad. In fact, they've been playing so hard that they were both in bed asleep at 8pm. Of course, they have also been waking up between 6 and 6:30a. Not the vacation Mommy had in mind. I' hoping that now that we've been here for a couple days we'll start waking up at our normal hour of 7 or 7:30a. Fingers crossed.

Jack and I hit the pool for a little bit this afternoon while Ethan took his nap. Jack was having fun climbing down the stairs, swimming to me, swimming to the wall, climbing up, running to the stairs and doing it all over again. I'm looking forward to Daddy being here next week so that they can play longer in the water. While the pool is heated, it's still pretty windy and shady back here and I got pretty cold after about half an hour or so.

Drying off on a chair made just for Jack!

What a great trip we're having so far. Lucky little boys to have Nana and Grandad's timeshare so close enough to travel to so they can spend some time together.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
