Having a Jolly Good Time in England

Internet is REALLY expensive at the hotel so we decided to only get it for 24 hours. I'll post tonight and then maybe again tomorrow if I have time. We've been having such a good time here it's hard to break away to tell you all about it.

The trip started off a bit bumpy. Ethan fell off our bed as we were packing up on Saturday. We were all sitting there when it happened, too. Luckily he wasn't hurt too badly but we weren't sure for awhile, as he was unusually fussy. But we made it to the airport without too much trouble.

Once we got on the plane we were delayed about an hour and a half due to a problem with one of the fuel pumps. They got it sorted out and we were on our way. The boys did just fine on the plane and slept the whole way (just about). Jason and I not so much, but we survived. We even got a compliment on how well behaved the boys were, which meant a lot to us as parents.

We then ventured into London and to our hotel. We made it from our plane through customs and immigration in about 30 minutes. Luckily someone pulled us aside at customs and put us in an empty line (I'm thinking because of the boys). However, it took us over two hours to get to our hotel.

We jumped on the Tube and at our second connection the line was under construction for the day so we had to take a bus to the station to get on the shuttle to the hotel. Here we were carting two kids, two suitcases, two carry-on's and a stroller around! Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we got here. I think we took every form of transportation in those first 24 hours except for boat!

We all slept well the first night and seem to have adjusted to the time change. We've been up and going into the city each day and loving our time here. We feel like old pro's already using the transportation to and from the hotel. We've found lovely pubs to eat at and fun things for the boys to see. We've been over Tower Bridge, seeing the Tower of London (going back to tour it), been to Buckingham Palace and to Picadilly Circus to do some shopping (but definitely want to go back). Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny so we might hit the zoo.

Enjoy the photos and if I get a chance I'll post more tomorrow. If not, I'll try to get online again once we get up to the country to our next spot.

Love to you all!

Wow, I can't get over how tall Jack looks with long pants on again! It sounds like you had quite an experience just getting to England but I'm glad it turned out okay. I am so excited for you guys and can't wait to hear all of the stories when I see you again. Love to all.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Last Days of Summer Vacation

I'm back...it's been a crazy past few weeks but then what's new. We were dealing with tummy issues for the boys last week and after spending each cleaning up the messes all I could bring myself to do at night was lay on the couch! On top of that, I've been working out 3 days a week for an hour and a half at a time and that has been wearing me out. Oh, and I've started a new business selling Willow House so my free time has been limited. But I've been enjoying it and a happy mama makes for a happy family! Now we're enjoying our last day of summer vacation before Jack starts Pre-K tomorrow, which is the equivalent to what kindergarten was for me back in the day. Jack is excited to get back to school and see his friends and learn "big kid stuff," and I'm excited to get our routine started for the school year. Plus Daddy should be home on Thursday and that will help tremendously! I can't believe he's been gone almost two years. It wi...

My Week

Jason left last Saturday (the 4th) for his two week Army Annual Training and we sent him off with a nighttime treat before he left.  I love this photo of my boys, as they all look so happy and the small ones look so grown up - especially Ethan.  We couldn't pry that cup of frozen yogurt away from him!!  And, as usual, when Jason leaves all hell breaks loose.  Tuesday night we were all getting ready for bed and I was getting Ethan and Wyatt out of the bathtub when Wyatt slipped and banged his chin on the edge.  Normally Wyatt gets out first but this time I got Ethan and that just drove him crazy.  He was jumping up and down and as soon as I told him to stop he slipped.  I thought he had just cut his lip or his gums as I only saw blood but then he titled his head up and I saw his chin - too much of the inside of the chin.  I got him dried off, and kept a washcloth to his chin but knew I needed to get him to the ER.  But the last th...
