Box Lacrosse Tournament

Over the summer Jack tried out for and made the Junior Swarm Box Lacrosse team. They had one tournament at the end of August up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Since I had been to Toronto several years ago for a business trip I opted to stay home with the little ones and let Jason take Jack alone. After a summer of dragging them all over the place for Jack's field lacrosse tournaments we didn't think it fair to take them again (plus school was already in session).

Anyway, here are the photos Jason took of the tournament and their free time. The top one is in the locker room getting ready.

Watching the other game before theirs started.

 Jack has the orange helmut.

Look at all the padding the goalies wear!?!

After the first day they took some time to check out the area.

 Jack having fun being Jack.

Then back at it the next day.

After meeting the two best teams of the tournament on the first day (losing to both, 10-11 and 5-8) they went undefeated the second day in all three games.

They won their final game coming in 1st for their bracket and 5th place overall.

They had all afternoon Sunday to explore so they headed out to Niagara Falls and took the boat tour to the falls.

Then they had all day Monday to explore downtown Toronto. So up the CN Tower they went.

 Meanwhile back in Georgia....

Wyatt had his own lacrosse practice and then we stopped for some fun at the park.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
