It's fitting that July starts out with a little bit of lacrosse - but this time we get to watch and not play. We finally had time to support our local ML lacrosse team, the Atlanta Blaze.
Check out the boys on the jumbo tron!
And, of course, July means our annual 4th of July party!
I think I only decorated our formal dining room - and we didn't even use it for the party.
We had a big group of awesome friends this year and had so much fun!
The boys getting all the fireworks ready to go.
A little race before the party starts.
A view I never get to see - facing our house. Thanks to a neighbor for sharing their view.
Several new friends had never seen the daytime parachute fireworks and were very impressed.
All the boys were in their 4th of July themed shirts and the only picture I got was of Wyatt. Mommy fail.
I love these lacrosse moms.
This picture about sums up how we feel about the month of June - exhausting.
My little monkey that refused to be in gymnastics. But we found a Ninja class that he now wants to participate in.
We also finally had some free time to take the top of the Jeep and just drive around.
Before we knew it it was time to take Jack to the Nike Berry College lacrosse camp. He was so excited for this camp with all his friends.
His roommate Jax.
North Paulding lacrosse representing again this year!
Big news for Ethan this year was finally getting back into hippotherapy.
He LOVES being back on the horse. He talks the whole time he's up there and gets lots of input from the riding.
The stimulation helped so much that he came home and played with these blocks independently for about 45 minutes. It was awesome!
Wyatt loves any time Bandit will snuggle with him.
While Jack was away at camp and Jason off on a business trip, I attempted to take the boys to the movies to give us something fun and "typical" to do.
It only worked because it was the new Despicable Me 3 movie and Ethan was able to sit on the steps - not a chair.
He had a hard time with the commercials and previews (we walked up and down the hallway outside the theater while we waited) but once the movie started he was much better. He got up and moved around a little bit but basically sat on the steps and watched. Did a lot of singing too!
Whew - I was concerned it wouldn't work and I'd have to drag an upset Wyatt out without seeing anything. But the older Ethan gets the easier a lot of things are becoming.
Before we knew it it was time to pick up Jack from camp. I think it's safe to say he had fun - and a lot of late nights/early mornings.
While I did try to limit the iPad from Ethan a bit more this summer, it was tricky. But I did make him have to do a lot of school work to earn it. Trade offs.
I love that Wyatt still wants to dress up in his Halloween costumes and play around the house. And if he can get Bandit to join in then all the better.
The fun part of summer and being a kid.
But we are never far away from a lacrosse field - either playing or watching. And back to the Blaze games we went. I just loved how angelic Wyatt looked here. It was a trying summer of bad behavior (I'm thinking there were a lot of growing pains). If I could bottle this look into behavior we'd be golden.
Even Ethan enjoyed the game much more than normal. I even got him cheering "let's go Blaze."
Jack and Zac were too cool for school.
Then we met up with some of their Crossfire teammates.
This picture and the one below just seem to sum up our summer to me. Friends and lacrosse. It was a great summer and one I wasn't ready to see come to an end.
I finally had to put Wyatt to work for some of the bad behaviors he was displaying. I should have done this long ago, my house started to look really clean!!
Jack made a travel box lacrosse team so he spent a week on the other side of the city doing practices. He and Jason will be traveling to Toronto at the end of August for the tournament.
All good things must come to and end and this summer was one of them. We had our annual meet and greet at the schools - this year both elementary and middle school. The only picture I got was of Wyatt and only because how could I not? Look at him, he could have totally grown up in the 60s!
Middle school didn't go quite so well, but I will address that in my next post.
Our final summer weekend was, again, spent at the lacrosse field. This time we had the Crossfire team party followed by an Atlanta Blaze game. The boys got to make a tunnel for the players coming on to the field and then ended up on the jumbo tron again.
What a great summer of 2017 we had!
