Summer Vacation - June

Wow, where did our summer go? I'm updating this on our second to last day of summer vacation. Looking back on all these photos reminds me of how much fun this summer was. From the boys spending lots of time coloring and making comics to spending time with lots of friends, I hate to see it go.

I'm breaking up my posts into two - June and July - since we start back to school August 1st. Our summer can best be described as all lacrosse all the time. June was filled with lacrosse tournaments every weekend and these are just a snippet of photos.

Our first out of town tournament was just outside Nashville, TN. I was most excited to visit Nashville - until we got there and found out it would be way more fun without kids. LOL

I will admit that it was very hot and we had just spent most of the day in the car. Plus, Nashville was super crowded due to the Stanley Cup Finals being played in town that night and one of the CMT Award shows taking place in a day or two. All the streets were packed with people and there were music stages filling streets left and right.

We went into town to have a look around and grab a bite to eat, however we had a hard time finding a good family friendly restaurant so we ended up back close to where the tournament took place. Don't worry Nashville, I'll be back!

It was a very fun, yet hot, tournament weekend.

The younger siblings had fun listening to music and entertaining themselves while the boys played.

Our second night we found a hole in the wall BBQ restaurant (too small for all of us to eat at) and brought it back to the hotel and ate in the lobby. Perfect place to sit and talk to all the other families as they came in and out. Great bonding for the boys.

These two pictures just about sum up his feelings for all the lacrosse tournaments we dragged him to - long and tiring!

But we filled the days during the week with fun stuff.

Like building big castles.

Spending time in the yard.

And Surge camp for Wyatt - skateboarding!

I was even able to sneak off to a Luke Bryan concert with my girlfriend!

Amazing seats.

Amazing friends!

But the weekends brought us right back to another lacrosse tournament.

Where it was hot and humid but we had these amazing misting fans that Ethan LOVED.

Lots of friends to hang out with between games.

And some fun toys to play with and on at some parks.

I managed to plant a lemon tree this summer, which is something I've wanted to do for a few years now.

Wyatt has been carrying these animal friends around with him EVERYWHERE this summer. And was in the habit for awhile of buckling them in with him.

Our final tournament of the summer was outside Charlotte, NC and we were fortunate enough to have friends up there that live on a lake. So we went up early that Friday to spend the day with them.

So relaxing to be on the water. It's something I really miss about living in Seattle.

The boys fished and swam from the dock.

And tubbed on the lake behind the boat.

 Which they all loved!

It was the perfect way to start the last tournament and such a fun way to end our season. The boys did their best at our final tournament and went undefeated all the way up until the final championship game. We played a very tough competitor and came up short. But we loved every minute of season watching them get better and better.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back. ...
