It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

The day after Thanksgiving has become my official "get ready for Christmas" day. Everything gets pulled out and we start putting it all up. It takes awhile to get it all up but I love how it looks so I like to do it as early as possible so I can enjoy it for as long as possible.

Each year I try and change things up a little bit, to keep it interesting. This year I changed up my front porch a bit. I added large ornaments instead of bows to the greenery.

This year I had a big helper. Wyatt REALLY wanted to be involved in it all.

Last year we added this "forever" tree to the family room. I always felt that we needed a little bit more in this room and I have loved it. It's where all the boys have their homemade ornaments that they've made over the years. I don't have a topper for it so this year I added a couple Elves feet.

Not much has changed in this room over the years. I try to keep it simple and colorful.

Wyatt REALLY wanted to put up all the nutcrackers. And truth be told, that's all he wanted to put out. So after he hung up his stocking, we focused on the placement of the Nutcrackers.

Here are just some random photos of the different parts of the room.

Wyatt did a pretty good job of putting the Nutcrackers out.

With the addition of the sofa table this Fall, I was able to add a few new things to the family/keeping room. Christmas tree candle holders!!

 I love them.

Getting the boys to all look at me and smile at the same time is near impossible.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
