Christmas Decorating

I love to decorate for Christmas, and I love to share my home with everyone, so come on in and see the magic...

The front entryway. The boy's current Christmas card always ends up on that snowflake frame once I get them made.

The boys love to help me decorate so this year they each got a handful of our Nutcrackers to place where they wanted them.  Wyatt was cracking me up because he kept asking, "can I climb the LETTER to place the GRAHAM CRACKERS."

Jack has always loved to help me with the decorating. I'm glad that he wants to share this special time with me.

 Our finished fireplace.

A quick move over to the family room mantel.

A close up of one side of the formal living room mantel. I found those stacking Nutcrackers at our local Kroger and fell in love. They are so cute and so different.

I had been using our light up greenery outside but this year decided to add it to the banister to make it easier to hold the metal ornaments and to give the room a bit more Christmasy lights.

My all-time favorite Christmas decoration -- my babies footprints!

Our Santa pictures -- sadly, this year everyone decided they were too old. I think I could have gotten Wyatt and Ethan there if I pushed, but I didn't.

I had a very different front porch this year and I LOVED it!

I love this big ornament tucked into the poinsettia's.

I moved the tiered basket over into the corner as it felt too crowded by the front door.

This was the final front porch look.

I also changed up my countertop look. I HATE the clutter that accumulates in this part of the kitchen counter so I decided to decorate it to help keep me on top of clearing the clutter.

It gives it a bit of a focal point.

Nothing much changes in the formal dining room. I've been happy with the look for a couple years now so I haven't changed too much.

Well, I take that back. I normally have the greenery snaking the table on top of the runner with the bowl filled with the santa ornaments (you can see a tiny one in the bow). But this year, not five minutes after I had it all decorated I heard a big crash and came in to find that Bandit had pulled on the runner and knocked everything off the table. All the glass ornaments broke except one. Thankfully with all that glass everywhere no one was in the room. I spent quite a bit of time cleaning it up since we walk around the house barefoot most of the time and twice this past year I stepped on the tiniest shard of glass that I had to have cut out of my foot. I couldn't bear to have the kids go through that...

So that bit changed and I added a couple new ornaments hanging from my light fixture.

The pressure of living in a big southern house finally got to me and we added a second tree to the house. This one is a fake tree in the family room that I will now decorate with all the kids handmade ornaments from school. I love it. And since we spend most of our time in the family room and kitchen, it made sense.

This is a new outside decoration that I made this year and I love it! Big enough to see from the street.

 And very welcoming.

The Cornwell boys wish you a very Merry Christmas!

I love this view from the upstairs landing, all aglow!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...

Summer is Lacrosse

This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around. Boys!  Just a few shots of Jack playing.  Summer also means supporting our local professional field lacrosse team, The Atlanta Blaze. Jack and his buddy Zac had the privilege of working with the team's head coach through the local youth Thund...
