Back to School

Hard to believe the summer was over and it was time to head back to school. I absolutely HATE starting back the first week of August but I made the most of it by making these cute labels for the teacher's canisters of wipes for the teacher Meet & Greet. If you're going to give it anyway, you might as well make it look good.

Then, as is our tradition, it was off for some frozen yogurt!

Blink and then school started. How is it possible that they are all so big and all in the same school now, rocking their new school haircuts?

First off, we took Ethan to his class for 1st grade. And for the first time ever, he refused to enter the room. I had to physically pick him up and bring him in. It was a rough start for him but we finally got some things put in place to help him and now he's doing great!

Next off was Wyatt to Kindergarten. I did want to cry, especially looking at that face. But the good news is that he always does so much better when I'm not around him. He is now flourishing and making lots of friends!!

Last, but certainly not least, my big 4th grader. He says he hates school but that smile tells me otherwise. I still remember dropping him off for his first day of preschool and now look at how big and handsome he is. Sigh.

I enjoyed the day to myself filled with chores and errands (amazing what you can get done when there are no kids at home) waiting for the bus.  First home is Ethan.

Then about 30 minutes later are the two others.

And so starts our new normal.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
