Winter Wonderland

I have been away from the blog for quite awhile, so I apologize, but I've had to mourn the loss of my pictures. Our silly puppy knocked my computer off my lap and even though it didn't fall far, it fell in such a way that it destroyed my hard drive.

Luckily, most of my pictures had been posted to Facebook and I was pretty up-to-date on the blog, but I still lost a few and it's taken me some time to get back into my picture taking, blog posting self.  But I'm back, so here we go.

As seems to be the case, our Mid-Winter Break seems to have a few snow days added to the front-end or the back end. And since it's fairly sunny and warm now (60s, 70 and maybe even 80 by the end of the week) it feels odd to post these pictures of our snow days.

The boys loved the snow and having friends over to engage in snowball fights!

Ethan has never been a big fan of the outdoors, and especially not of the snow, so he enjoyed staying inside where it was warm -- plus he had a new birthday toy to play with (when Wyatt wasn't).

Sledding

And a teeny, tiny snowman. Cute!

It really came down.

And it's hard to see, but the flakes were HUGE! I don't know if I've ever seen such big flakes before.

Not sure why this picture is out of order but here you see that Ethan finally got some time with his toy!!

Ethan DID NOT like it in the snow out back because the flakes fell on his head (sensory issues).

But was an entirely different creature out on the front porch where he was covered!

I forced him out and he was happy at first until he really tried walking in it. I think he dislikes it because he felt so unstable with the snow underfoot.

But I had him out long enough to get this great picture of all three boys!

More snowball fights to end the day!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
