What Could Go Wrong Did Go Wrong

Wyatt and I were waiting for Grandma and Nana to arrive at the airport to watch the boys while Jason and I were gone on our European vacation.

As it would be Jason's birthday while we were gone, we headed out for a birthday dinner before we left.  The calm before the storm...

The first day we checked in with everyone when we arrived in Italy, it turns out they missed the birthday party they were invited to the day we left.  The boys were disappointed but good sports about it.

When we checked in the next day it had gotten even worse.  Grandma ended up in the hospital after a visit from the paramedics!  We thought it was a kidney stone but were waiting for the final word (hard when you are 8 hours ahead in time).  It got harder for us the next couple of days since the resort lost their internet connection and were we on pins and needles wanting to find out what happened.

After a couple days we finally checked in to find that Grandma was home but still in a lot of pain due to another issue that wouldn't be determined until she returned home.  But they all trudged through the week dealing with rain, pain, and the return of the stomach bug for everyone.

We can't thank you both enough for watching the boys and dealing with all you did.

We love you very much!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Master Closet Overhaul

We have this ridiculously large walk-in closet in our master bedroom and over time it has been overtaken with STUFF. So I decided I was tired of looking at the mess and it was time to clean it out and up.  Take a look...  I can't believe it went from this... To this!  I love walking in here now and actually find myself looking for reasons to go into my closet.  Along with just weeding out old clothes and items I no longer wore or needed (you should see the pile of stuff that was donated!) I made some changes to the room too.   One of them was my shoe racks. I've long wanted a tall shoe rack to go alongside the built in shelves but I knew it would never get off my husband's to-do list so I took matters into my own hands!!  It's not exactly what I had envisioned but it works and I'm happy with it. Thanks Target for the shelves.  Over the past few years I have developed a deep love for scarves and now own several....
We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). The fun part of having good friends on the same lacrosse team is you get to explore together. We all drove up to Red Rocks to expl...
