Lacrosse Opener

 Jack had his first lacrosse game this morning (in the rain - it felt like Seattle) and even though we got creamed (12 to 1) the boys did fairly well, especially towards the end, for playing against a team that was older and had been playing longer.  We have mostly younger, newer players.
 Jack went into the game with a great "we're going to win" attitude and even though they didn't he was smiling from ear to ear at the end because he had so much fun.
 He played both defender and attacker.  While he still has a lot to work on he did a great job of staying on his man as a defender (needs to work on keeping his eye on both the man and the ball) and he got the ball a couple times as an attacker.  He actually made a goal once but because in this level we have a rule of the ball needing to be passed twice before you can make a goal, it didn't count (he thought the passing on the other side of the midfield counted).
Jack is #12 in the blue - at the far end of the photo.  We're looking forward to a fun season!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town.  We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Summer is Lacrosse

 This summer was especially busy for us as Jack played on TWO travel lacrosse teams and Wyatt played his first year on one. We only had one weekend where Jason and Wyatt headed off to Nashville, TN while Jack, Ethan and I stayed here for each of their tournaments.  This was Wyatt's oh-so-happy-to-get-his-photo-taken face before they headed out to Nashville. I just loved the shirt!!  This was the set up we had for Jack's tournament in town. Ethan was happy as a clam with shade and his iPad!!  Jack had a phenomenal first tournament and was directly responsible for almost all the teams goals. He looked awesome and he joked it was because his annoying youngest brother wasn't around.
