Playing In the Dirt Some More

Wyatt cracks me up with the places he likes to get himself into.  He has always loved these boxes.  And he plays hard too!
Just a few random photos of the boys...and Wyatt trying to be like Daddy!!
Jason and I have had a lot of fun planting in the backyard and trying to get it more like how we want it.  It will take a while for us to get it just right but so far we're very happy.  And if you knew us from our Seattle days, you're probably wondering what happened to us.  We had this beautiful backyard in our first home in Federal Way that both mother's LOVED and both Jason and I said - get rid of all those flowers, too much upkeep.  And it was.  But now we're in more of a position to spend time at home in our yard.  And with our backyard fireplace, we really want something pretty to look at now that we spend so much time out there.

I've planted lavender in another part of the yard that hasn't done so well but it seems to LOVE this hillside.  Next year we'll plant three or four more bushes.  It's starting to all bloom right now and it's so pretty.
Jason loves this little corner at the top of the steps and it's so much prettier now that it's in full bloom.  Guess I should have waited to take these photos...

The columbine I planted last year did so well here that we got another variety to plant next to the original (in the background).
My little mini rosebush.  I love this color and I love the fact that it won't get too much bigger than this.
That big green bush in the middle is my hydrangea.  I finally found a spot that it loves in my yard.  I tried several other spots but this is perfect and it's in full bloom right now.  Time to cut some stems for the house.
I pulled out a bunch of greenery that Jason and I never liked and started replacing with more day lilies leading up to the front door.

I planted a clematis on each side of the porch steps and am hoping they take.
Wyatt would like to welcome you to our home.

I can't remember what the name of this plant is but I fell in love with it when I saw it at the nursery.  I love the delicateness of it.
I've since added another on the other side of the stones, as well as three more day lilies along the path.
I love my baskets of flowers.
 Here are all my plantings.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

Last Days of Summer Vacation

I'm back...it's been a crazy past few weeks but then what's new. We were dealing with tummy issues for the boys last week and after spending each cleaning up the messes all I could bring myself to do at night was lay on the couch! On top of that, I've been working out 3 days a week for an hour and a half at a time and that has been wearing me out. Oh, and I've started a new business selling Willow House so my free time has been limited. But I've been enjoying it and a happy mama makes for a happy family! Now we're enjoying our last day of summer vacation before Jack starts Pre-K tomorrow, which is the equivalent to what kindergarten was for me back in the day. Jack is excited to get back to school and see his friends and learn "big kid stuff," and I'm excited to get our routine started for the school year. Plus Daddy should be home on Thursday and that will help tremendously! I can't believe he's been gone almost two years. It wi...

My Week

Jason left last Saturday (the 4th) for his two week Army Annual Training and we sent him off with a nighttime treat before he left.  I love this photo of my boys, as they all look so happy and the small ones look so grown up - especially Ethan.  We couldn't pry that cup of frozen yogurt away from him!!  And, as usual, when Jason leaves all hell breaks loose.  Tuesday night we were all getting ready for bed and I was getting Ethan and Wyatt out of the bathtub when Wyatt slipped and banged his chin on the edge.  Normally Wyatt gets out first but this time I got Ethan and that just drove him crazy.  He was jumping up and down and as soon as I told him to stop he slipped.  I thought he had just cut his lip or his gums as I only saw blood but then he titled his head up and I saw his chin - too much of the inside of the chin.  I got him dried off, and kept a washcloth to his chin but knew I needed to get him to the ER.  But the last th...
