No Tricks Just Treats

Getting ready for All Hallows Eve.
Bowl one of three ready for the trick-or-treaters.
Dressed up and ready to open Halloween cards from Nana & Granddad.
 Ready for some fun!
We ALWAYS start our Halloween night out at Publix.  They do such a great job of treating the kids to fun and candy.  Jack started off with a little put-put -- his favorite.
Who wants to fish for some candy???

And Daddy is more than happy to help out with a cast or two!
Here we found Ethan's game!  He got both bean bags in the hole, then took his candy from the bucket and managed to get that in the hole too!  Guess we'll be getting a bean bag toss for the backyard now.
Ethan's superpower is to make a hole in one in a single leap!

We are fortunate to have such great friends in the neighborhood.  We always get together for a dinner of mummy dogs before heading out to trick or treat together.  What a good looking group.  I love how our pirate friend can't take his eyes of Ethan!
Let the fun begin!  The boys all had a good time and Ethan actually ran into a friend at one house - his physical therapist from school.  He seemed quite proud to know someone when the rest of us were all saying to each other, who is this and how does she know Ethan?

Wyatt had a lot of fun too - until it got too late, then all the scary costumes started to show up and he kept plugging his ears and saying, "scared, scared."
 Jack's loot...
...all sorted out.  This brings back so many memories of my own Halloween's as a child, as I did the exact thing.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
