Family Summer Vacation Part 1

These photos are so long in getting posted -- sorry.  I had every intention of staying on top of my posts but as usual, life got in the way.  I returned from a trip to Seattle with over 400 photos to download so I have a lot of catching up to do!!  These photos are from our family vacation down to Pensacola, Florida, with a few stops along the way!!
Our first stop was The National Infantry Museum at Ft. Benning, GA.  They were building it while Jason was stationed there a few years ago, so he was eager to check it out and show the boys.  Plus, it was a nice stop along the way to break up our road trip.
Hope you enjoy some fun family photos!!

This is the Bradley Fighting Vehicle that Jason used to command back with his unit in Seattle.

Wyatt's new thing is to plug his ears when he's scared.
After the museum we headed down to Eufala, GA and enjoyed some outdoor family fun with lots of fishing.  We spent one day at Providence Canyon State Park, known as Georgia's Little Grand Canyon.  It was a lot of hiking up and down steep hills carrying little boys but it was a lot of fun.  I can't wait to get back there when the little ones are bigger and will hike on their own.
You can read more about it here:

 It was so pretty!

It was a HOT day (Jack took this photo).

There was a homestead on this site years ago and as you walk along the rim you can see all these old broken down cars.  It was pretty cool.

 Ooooh, a play park!

Now, we're off for a long weekend at the beach with some friends!!!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i...

Busy week

It's been a busy week with little things here and there, which is getting me ready for the busy summer ahead of us with gymnastics, swimming and all Ethan's therapies. Whew, I need a break from just thinking about it. We did have a nice walk down to our community playground this afternoon. Ethan couldn't stop laughing on the swings and the slide (he couldn't get enough of the slide) and Jack made a little friend! Great afternoon. Speaking of therapies, Ethan starts his occupational therapy next week and I'm so excited. We got the therapy notes back from his evaluation and, while I'm not positive on how I'm reading it, the scores say from poor to very poor. We have been very lucky that Ethan hasn't had any medical issues and so far he seems to be doing well with responding to his therapies, so I really want to make sure he has the best of everything. Today has just made me a little blue thinking about Ethan not being 100% of what other kids are and ...
