Birthday Boys

We got home from our Spring Break trip just in time to celebrate Jason's birthday. The boys spent the morning making him birthday cards and helping me wrap his gifts.  Then before heading out for a celebration dinner Daddy opened his gifts.  Wyatt's card.  Ethan's card.  Jack's card.  A University of Washington travel coffee cup...  And a Keep Calm and Go Fishing shirt! Then it was time to celebrate Wyatt's birthday.  While Wyatt's birthday is not until Monday (the 27th) we celebrated on Saturday since Jason was going to be traveling on the actual day.  Which was fine by Wyatt because as soon as he saw all the gifts it was a non-stop request to open them!  First up was a gift from Ethan.  Plants vs. Zombie toys!!  Then Mom and Dad gifts.  "I knew it!" he says when he opened his Call of Duty Ghost astronaut toy.  Then a gift from Jack.  Lego Clone Trooper

Last Day In Paradise

My girlfriend Kellie is so smart, since it was about a 5-6 hour drive home she suggested letting the kids play at the beach all morning then head back to the house to let them eat lunch and play while we packed up everything. My boys told me they were all beached out before we left but from these pictures you couldn't tell. LOL  Jack got in some serious boogie boarding. And they all enjoyed playing in the sand.   Although it was a long drive there and back it was so relaxing being there. The kids and I had the best time (the only thing missing was Jason) and now we are super excited for summer to get here so we can hit the pool and maybe take another beach vacation with Daddy!

Spring Break Day Three

Just before you get to Fripp Island you drive through Hunting Island State Park, which also has a lighthouse, so we decided Wednesday morning to drive over there and take a look. Getting six kids to take a picture (and all look the same way) is near impossible. But they sure loved hanging out together. Ethan, Wyatt and Ryder were too little to climb all the way to the top of the lighthouse, so Kellie took the older kids while I stayed below with the younger ones.  While we were waiting I started chatting with an older woman sitting on a bench waiting for the rest of her group. It always amazes me the number of people I have met because they have recognized that Ethan has Down syndrome. In the first few days I assumed we would be shunned by many because of it but I have come to learn that we will be approached by more.  I love that about Ethan!  Anyway, we had a lovely chat before the little natives got restless and we started to wander around the lighthou
