Willow House Inspiration

I've been selling Willow House products now for about 7-8 months and I have to say, I've had so much fun learning how to be creative with my decorating. I thought it would be fun to do a post to show off how versatile the product is.

I love the idea of using the Hurricane's for picture frames! What better way to show off a great picture. Plus, it's so much easier than getting it into a frame. I used glass ornaments but love the idea of using rocks too!

I'm in the midst of redoing our living room and it's fun to play around with everything.

This next piece is my all-time favorite item right now. And it's no wonder that it's the #1 selling item in 2010 for Willow House. The French Wire Tiered Stand can be used for so much. I'm looking forward to getting my Belle Meade Cream and Sugar set so I can use this as a great tea & coffee caddy!! The uses for this are endless...and you'll see a few pictures for how I switched it out for the holidays and events.

This look can take you from Valentine's Day to Easter to Mother's Day - or any tea party!

But here is Halloween/Fall. I didn't do much to it but added a few pumpkins. The colors go with my current Dining Room look, but I'm changing that up to so we'll see how it evolves.

And I love the Cinnabar Footed Server. Not only does it hold fruit, but any holiday decoration you can think of.

Here is the Hurricane again in a more traditional use, just kicked up a notch! Candles are pretty inside but how tempting to fill with candy first and then top with a candle. This can hold cranberries at Christmas, Conversation Hearts or Red Hots at Valentine's Day and Jelly Beans for Easter. So easy and a super cute centerpiece! How pretty would they look on tables at weddings????

I used my French Wire Tiered Stand a lot over the holidays. Above is how it was used on Christmas morning. I took the top tier off (they can all be removed or flipped upside down) and served our drinks on the bottom and our Christmas rolls on top. Perfect to take into the living room to enjoy while opening gifts prior to our Christmas morning brunch!

Then here on the right is how I used it for a playdate treat stand. I loved this! Clementines on top, mini muffins in the middle and juice boxes/pouches on the bottom. How can you live without this item!

Another favorite item is the Gramercy Double Dish Stand. I got this item as my hostess rewards with my first party over a year ago and I have to say I love it! It sits on my counter year-round, often times with nothing on it but the plates. But it is so easy to "dress up." It's the perfect stand for cookies (which I LOVE to bake) or hot appetizers. And the top stand can easily be used for a decoration, such as this Christmas tree. I even had a pretty orange flower on it for Halloween/Fall.

Right now I'm enjoying it for Valentine's Day. I stacked the Portico Accent Plates on top of the square Villa Stoneware and then topped with tiny desserts for the perfect Valentine's treat! With red as my accent color in the kitchen, these plates will probably stay there long after the holiday is over.

I think every kitchen could use a pop of red somewhere. I have made it my true accent color, but you can use little bits here and there. I've taken one of the Cinnabar Tidbits (they come in a set of four and I use them for dips, change holders, etc.) and paired it with the Estate Kitchen Vanity Tray and Dispenser. It sits by the sink and holds my sponge and my Pampered Chef scrappers (let's be honest, who doesn't have a bunch of these hanging around?).

Here's an item that I won for free that I wasn't quite sure how or where to use. The Kensington Large Platter and Stand is so beautiful, when I first got it I just popped it up on the kitchen counter. It quickly became my mail holder. I loved that use, as it kept my counter a bit cleaner yet still looked pretty. Then Christmas came along and I had all this Christmas candy I wanted to put out. So it dawned on me to use the Cinnabar tidbits. But I still had an empty corner and candy canes to display. That's when the French Wire Plant Holders came to mind. The small one was perfect in the corner with candy canes spilling out the top! Festive and useful.

This stand naturally moved right into Valentine's Day with the tidbits holding the Valentine's candy and a little decoration to replace the candy cane (I love mixing the different heights to give it some dimension). Plus, I added in one of the Verde Accent Bowls because I love green and the conversation hearts looked so pretty in it.

We celebrated Ethan's birthday at the end of January and I finally got to use my French Wire Tiered Stand the way I had originally imagined using it in my mind when I got it last September -- to hold cupcakes!

I used the stand back in September at Jack's party to hold the goody bags for his friends and it looked great then too. But we had Ethan's party at another location and it was so easy to bring in the stand covered with cupcakes. This made the perfect centerpiece for his party.

Here I've converted the stand into more of a conversation piece. Add a few decorations, some candy, some sentimental items and it can stand alone. To the bottom of the stand I showcased my great-grandmother's tea cup. Next to it I thought it would be cute to take a little mailbox and fill it up with sugar packets - perfect for a tea party. Again, I'm looking forward to adding my Belle Meade cream and sugar set to complete the look for tea time.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was

The Olympics

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've last posted a message. I guess it's been due to a combination of being really busy and not having much to say! Is that a contradiction? We've been letting Jack stay up late since Friday so that he could enjoy the Olympics. He really enjoyed the opening ceremony and has been in awe of the gymnastics. We went to a BBQ on Sunday night and just as we were getting ready to leave they put the ladies gymnastics on and all the kids say and watched. We had to drag Jack away. In other news, we're getting ready to do a really crazy thing. After only two months of having no debt and house payment, we're putting in an offer on a new home! We really had no plans to do this, but when we went to visit our friends on Sunday, we decided to drive around and look at the houses there. We had looked in there back before Ethan was born and fell in love with the place so we thought we'd just take a look and see how much i

Last Day in Prague

Our last full day in Prague. We had a late night parting the night before and a very early morning excursion but this was the one I was excited for! We did a similar excursion in Italy and loved it too. This was an awesome city bike tour to the Vysehrad Castle. We stopped for photo ops along the way - including here along the Charles River. But it's all fun and games until someone gets stopped by the Polizia! Before we left on our trip I was told to make sure you stay away from the police, so I was surprised to come up the big steep hill to see Jason stopped by one. I guess our tour guides didn't get the permit to ride in the park (too close to kids and a school). We had all just come up a big steep hill and were separated from the front of our group. Jason stopped to wait for me and the rest of the group to make sure we knew where to go. We had three guides, on leading, one in the middle who pulled away from Jason, and then one at the back.
