This Blog is For Jason

I had no photos of the boys to blog but Jason called asked for more photos and they looked so cute out of the bathtub tonight that I grabbed the camera and started snapping away! Every night Jack likes to read Ethan stories and Ethan gets the biggest kick out of it, except that Ethan loved to turn the pages and Jack doesn't let him. But Ethan really gets a kick out of seeing Jack in his bath towels. Ethan is now trying to say dog. He basically says do but he tries to repeat it when you say it and today when our speech therapist was here she asked him where the dogs were and he pointed to them and say do. It's very exciting to see the big changes in him. He's going to be walking and talking in no time!! Jack and I have started a new nightly routine, he rocks in the rocking chair for a few minutes and then I sit with him and rock him before heading into his room to read stories. When he was a baby, we had to rock every night and naptime forever to get him ready for bed,

Rain, Rain Go Away...And Don't Come Back Anytime Soon!

We haven't left the house in two days thanks to the 15+ inches of rain we've gotten since Saturday! And Jack's preschool was canceled tomorrow due to the rain too (the first time they've ever closed due to rain). I haven't been on the roads, but from everything I've seen on the TV and read on the internet, it's horrible out there (roads washed away, flooding everywhere, etc.). Here are a few photos of our yard so you can see how much water we've gotten out here. Luckily we've had no flooding in our basement but in our old neighborhood, a lot of the houses are flooded and cars ruined. People couldn't even leave the neighborhood because of water covering the roadways. Across the street the little creek has turned into a fast moving river. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our neighbors that it doesn't rise anymore and get into their basements. We're supposed to get more rain tonight but so far we've had a few hours of nothing,

Quiet House

What a quiet afternoon we had now that all the grannies have gone home. Luckily we just have a few days and then Daddy will be home for a week's visit! Not much has been going on, just spending all our time with our visitors. Ethan's top front tooth just broke through in the past day, so that's exciting. He's also becoming very mobile. We've been working on getting him to cruise from the couch to the ottoman boxes in front of the couch. He's starting to pick it up and you can just see that he wants to start walking soon! Ethan LOVES balloons and spent lots of time playing with the ones from Jack's birthday party. Jack and Ethan spent all their time playing either with each other, or their grannies. Jack shares his birthday with Grandma Christy, so we spent Monday (actual birthday) opening his gifts from Grandma, Uncle Spencer and Nana and Granddad. We got Nana and Granddad on the computer to watch, and earlier in the day we had Nana and Grandma Alice w

More Birthday Photos

Since Jason couldn't be here for Jack's actual birthday, we gave Jack our present to him over Labor Day weekend. He got a new Razor scooter and a Lightning McQueen helmet. He was very excited to get it. We immediately headed outside to try it out. Even Daddy got in on the action. But since he was in charge of photos, there are none of him zipping down the road into the cul-de-sac. On Sunday of Labor Day weekend, we headed out to the zoo. While Jack constantly wanted to move on to the next animal, Ethan really enjoyed it - especially the gorillas and chimpanzees.

Jack's 4th Birthday Party

I've been busy with Grannies in town and planning Jack's birthday party but I know Jason has been missing seeing the boys photos on the blog so I'm up late to make him happy (even though I should be in bed...). So here are photos from today's party. It was a Cars themed party but this is what you get when you have a 4 year old pick out his cake, emergency vehicles. He actually wanted the construction workers cake but that was discontinued. At least the cake he picked had some type of cars on it. We had about 10 kids here, which was smaller than previous parties, but it was much nicer. Jack and his new "best friend" Gavin didn't leave each other's side the entire party. Gavin is the son of Ethan's physical therapist and he'd been coming with his mom all summer for therapies so the boys could play and they always got on like a house on fire. We're hoping to get these boys together more often now. Jack and his grannies, who were such a b
