Snoqulamie Falls & More

We always enjoy visiting Snoqualmie Falls up in the mountains.  Auntie Jake joined us.  Along with Yves and Uncle Jason.  Beautiful, but with the drought they've been having in the NW the waterfall wasn't as powerful as it can be.  This year our cousin Robyn and her family were in town on the Eastern side of the mountains and met us in Snoqualmie for lunch and a catch up.  Love seeing all these kids together!  If only we didn't live so far away from each other! Later that night we headed down to Uncle Jason's apartment in Kent and spent some time on his rooftop patio. Look at that beautiful mountain popping up behind them! Wish I could bring that mountain back to Georgia with me!! Now it's time for s'mores! Ethan was enjoying posing for the camera. Every time I took his picture he would say, "one more," or "another."  Love all his silly poses.  This one is

Surprise Seattle Visit

All packed and ready to go... I always wonder how the boys will do when we travel, especially since I usually travel with them alone. But they've been traveling since birth and it just keeps getting easier and easier the older they get. And, of course, iPads and tablets help for the 5+ hour flights! It was so hard to keep the secret that we weren't coming and be so mum on Facebook while trying to arrange get together's and outings. But we pulled it off - complete and total surprise!  Oh, and did I mention how happy he was to see us all? Ethan was being silly and playing around with Nana's reading glasses. He was so cute! The funny thing is, he has perfect vision! One of the best things about coming back to Seattle is getting to spend time with these lovely ladies. We have been friends since middle school and I love the fact that we have made our relationships such a

4th Of July

I hope everyone had a Happy 4th of July!! It's our favorite holiday around here so we always go all out with fireworks and a party. And I love to decorate - although I'm finding that less is more these days. Come inside and see...  It can be easy to go "all out" but I have found, after doing that year after year, that a few items placed strategically is nicer.  I focused more on my entryway where people come in...  And in our formal dining room, where we always have the food during our parties.  But, of course, the focus is always on the fireworks.  We start off at dusk, or as close as we can wait until dusk, to start with the daytime ones, like this cute little tank that Wyatt REALLY wanted.  Then on to the colored smoke bombs, that Ethan LOVED running through.  The whole cul-de-sac was filled with neighbors and friends enjoying the show.  A highlight is always the parachutes. The kids love running arou
