Christmas Around the Cornwell's

I have always loved decorating for Christmas. My childhood Christmas's were always so magical that I want to make it as special for my kids as my mom did for me and my siblings. My boys and I would like to welcome you into our little corner of the world to see our Christmas home.  I love adding to my decorations each year and changing it up a little here and there so it's similar but not exactly the same year after year.  I love finding decorations and then trying to find the perfect spot for them. Don't be afraid to move things - my decorations always seem to take a little tour around the house before finding the right home.  This year I added lanterns to the front porch. I saw someone else had decorated like this at their home - only they had all their lanterns the same, just different sizes.  I went a different route and went all different colors, sizes and styles - since I already had a couple in my house.   I'm pretty happy

Wyatt's Christmas Program

A quick picture on how we've been spending some of Jason's down time lately - organizing the garage. We are still adding some more but it's helped tremendously to get so much up off the floor. Hopefully we will get the rest done this weekend. Every time I pull into the garage I love it even more.  I love this picture of Ethan, I can't believe how grown up he's getting.  We've been busy with lots of Christmas events -- Jack had his chorus performance, we had a DSAA Christmas party and here is Wyatt at his preschool Christmas Program. He did NOT want to be left in his classroom to do this but he pulled it together and was a trooper!  He was so cute when he walked in, arms straight down at his sides and looking straight ahead.  These are all the pre-k'ers. Wyatt is in the second row just to the right of the middle of the picture but it's really hard to see him.  Ethan did really well and seemed to enjoy the program.  Jack was

Change of Command

Last November (2013) Jason took over command of his Alabama National Guard Unit. It was a very big deal and we had plans of coming to watch the ceremony. His stepmom was coming into town and we were all going to drive down to the event - his unit is location in Southern Alabama near the border of Alabama and Florida. Anyway, due to budget issues they had to cancel that weekend of drill, so the rescheduled the ceremony to the following month, and one that I wasn't able to attend. A few months ago Jason was selected to be promoted to Major. This is a huge deal but a sad one, as Jason was no longer able to lead his group and had to move to a new command.  The Change of Command ceremony was the first weekend of December this year. It was also their Family Day on Sunday, so we all drove down together on the Saturday.  While Jason was off playing Army the boys and I found some things to do in the small town of Dothan. Luckily it was a warm, sunny day and there was a park
