A Decade

How can it be that Jack is 10 years old?!?! I can't believe he's a big 4th grader and no longer my little boy. It's fun to see him grow and mature, but still a wee bit sad. For his birthday he wanted to go back to Mid Evil Times for dinner with his best friend Harrison and then have him spend the night.  Ethan didn't want a crown but had fun with the boys anyway!!  Bring on the food and the entertainment.  I love how they got creative and wore their helmets upside down, as if they had face gear.  Time for presents -- first up, a skateboard tool that he had been asking for.  Then a grip pad for his board.  And then the big gift -- a new board (bigger since he's grown since his last one).  He seemed very happy.  Now for Harrison's gift.  Legos!!  Jason made Jack put together his new board.  This dog -- do you think he loves Jack?!?!  Birthday cards from the grandparents

Back to School

Hard to believe the summer was over and it was time to head back to school. I absolutely HATE starting back the first week of August but I made the most of it by making these cute labels for the teacher's canisters of wipes for the teacher Meet & Greet. If you're going to give it anyway, you might as well make it look good.  Then, as is our tradition, it was off for some frozen yogurt!  Blink and then school started. How is it possible that they are all so big and all in the same school now, rocking their new school haircuts?  First off, we took Ethan to his class for 1st grade. And for the first time ever, he refused to enter the room. I had to physically pick him up and bring him in. It was a rough start for him but we finally got some things put in place to help him and now he's doing great!  Next off was Wyatt to Kindergarten. I did want to cry, especially looking at that face. But the good news is that he always does so much better when

The Summer of the Skateboard

Jack started a trend on our street this past summer. He got a skateboard for his birthday LAST September but by this summer, all his friends had one too. By the end of summer vacation, Jack had a few things mastered. The weekend before school started was spent doing all things skateboarding.  Cruising down the street.  Followed by Wyatt on his.  Then off to the skate park to work on tricks.  I love these pictures of Wyatt - he really looks like he knows what he's doing!! Jack worked so hard to learn how to come down the ramp and jump off this second ramp. He finally got it!!
