Getting Ready for Christmas

I was sitting at my desk doing some work one morning when I heard a muffled "mommy" called over and over.  I followed the sound only to find Wyatt in Daddy's office - in his bookshelf!  Jack has really been enjoying his Star Wars Advent Calendar.  Jingle James, our Elf on the Shelf, has returned and is getting himself into mischief!  We got a very large tree this year.  It fills up the room quite nicely.  Time to decorate!  Everyone got in on the action this year.  Wyatt is our climber!  He's figured out how to get onto everything - usually by pushing over something smaller, climbing on that to climb up onto the bigger thing.  You can't keep your eyes off him for a second! The final product! I thought for sure that little hands would come along and start taking off ornaments, but so far they've left the tree alone.  However, now that there are some presents underneath I'm not sure that will last

My Thankful Life, Part 3

Jack made Granny a Christmas present and wanted to see her open it, so we had Christmas a bit early!  Wyatt eating his own popsicle for the first time.  Cute ... before he made a huge mess!  For Thanksgiving dinner we drove out to Jason's Aunt and Uncle's house and had dinner with most of his family.  It was so nice to see everyone and catch up.  Here, Ethan is playing with Jason's cousin Jamie, while Jack plays with her son, who is only a few months younger.  The boys had so much fun together!  Jason's cousin Garrett gave the younger boys rides behind his four-wheeler.  Let the fun begin!  The boys had so much fun together.  I'm happy that Jack had some cousins to play with.  It was a fantastic Thanksgiving and I know Jack made some memories that he won't soon forget.  I just wish we lived closer to family so that these kinds of days weren't so few and far between.  Ethan was right at home with every

My Thankful Life, Part 2

We spent a couple days, while Granny was working, just tooling around as the five of us, taking the boys to some fun places.  This is an old west town that we had taken Jack too on his first trip to Phoenix at Thanksgiving when he was just over a year. It was fun to go back with all the boys! They do a mock shoot-out in the middle of the town that we just caught the end of.  It's pretty fun to watch, and you can just imagine life back then. We took the train ride around the outskirts of the town and saw some working mines. This is a photo of Superstition Mountain, and the day after we were here, a small plane crashed into it after having picked up three young kids to take them to a small town in AZ for Thanksgiving.  It was very sad. Then we just walked around the town area and let the boys play. It's the wild, wild west ya'll! Then we took a little drive up into the Tonto National Forest.  The sun was setting and it was so pretty
