Annual New Year's Eve Party

Have we really reached the end of another year???

As usual I took lots of pictures of the party BEFORE it began but none after the guests showed up. I guess I was just having too much fun!!

Now that the boys are getting older I want it to be more fun for them and get them more involved so they helped me pick out decorations and set things up. This year we got creative and used New Year's hats to hold the chips.

I found this cool tray online for about $7 and got it with the intent of using it to bring drinks and snacks from the kitchen to our outdoor fireplace but it worked great here too!

The boys picked out that BIG New Year's hat for a centerpiece so we used the sideboard for all the party goodies - 2015 glasses, poppers, etc.

Then we got really creative and put glow sticks in some balloons. Unfortunately the balloons were too thick to really get the full look of it and then Bandit decided he didn't like balloons all that well and started barking non-stop at them. I eventually had to hide them from him. Oh well, maybe next year will be better.

We had a great time at the party and we ALL made it to the New Year to ring it in together as a family.

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring. We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking. See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top. Beach Days

I have impressed myself by getting these pictures posted early today by taking advantage of Ethan's nap and then Jack playing with him! Just a quick note to update everyone, today we met with Jack's preschool teacher and saw his classroom. He's very excited to start school, which I JUST now realized is NEXT Tuesday, not the Tuesday after Labor Day. Wow, it will be so strange to have him gone 3 hours, 3 days a week. But Ethan will love the one on one time and I have volunteered to be a class mom for a couple of their class parties. These are photos of our day trip to Wrightsville Beach just outside of Wilmington, NC. I really loved this area and the boys had a great time playing in the sand and water.
