Feeling Like Spring

Still have more photos to share so here you go...these are from the weekend between our snowstorms when it was in the upper 60s. Also, this is the other new piece of furniture that we got, an end table for our chairs!!



Anyway, we enjoyed the lovely weekend weather a couple weeks back, even though it was the beginning of Ethan's illness. I tried to get him to do a few things (like walking behind his push toy) but he only wanted to take a few steps before sitting and not wanting to do anything else, poor little guy.



But Jack really enjoyed getting out and playing in the warm sunshine!



Ethan had his two year check-up at the beginning of the week and his doctor is very happy with how he is doing. He is 22 1/2 pounds and about 34 inches long. He is at the 50th percentile on the Down syndrome chart for both height and weight. I'm was so happy to hear that as he started out at the 10th percentile!



We're looking forward to another nice weekend this weekend (back in the 60s) except for the fact that I've got a cold...and a busy weekend of fun things planned, including my first afternoon away from the boys leaving them with a new babysitter tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a good night's sleep tonight and be better by tomorrow (one can hope!).

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well.  We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring.  We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking.  See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top.  Ethan and I messing around waiting on the other boys.  Photos of the boys up top.  Our first game was an evening game, so we had most of the day to explore and get used to the altitude (which definitely got to the boys once they got on the field). Beach Days

I have impressed myself by getting these pictures posted early today by taking advantage of Ethan's nap and then Jack playing with him! Just a quick note to update everyone, today we met with Jack's preschool teacher and saw his classroom. He's very excited to start school, which I JUST now realized is NEXT Tuesday, not the Tuesday after Labor Day. Wow, it will be so strange to have him gone 3 hours, 3 days a week. But Ethan will love the one on one time and I have volunteered to be a class mom for a couple of their class parties. These are photos of our day trip to Wrightsville Beach just outside of Wilmington, NC. I really loved this area and the boys had a great time playing in the sand and water.
