Ethan's Seattle Birthday Party

The weekend is over and Jason is headed back to North Carolina. It was great having him home but so hard to see him leave. He'll be gone this time for about 9 weeks.

So I'm back to blogging more regularly. And I have so many photos to share from our trip to Seattle and Phoenix. These are from the Open House/Birthday party we had for Dad and Ethan.

Ethan REALLY took to my cousin Robby. He would crawl over to him and want to be picked up and held. We joked that it was because Robby is over 6 feet tall and Ethan just wanted to check out the view from way up there. But when Ethan bonds with someone it's usually pretty tight!

Of course, both boys LOVED spending time with Uncle Jason and Aunt Delly. Jason and Jack played Star Wars together a lot and Jack couldn't get enough of it. I think it wore Jason out! But if he wants kids, he'd better get used to it. Hee hee.

It was a fun afternoon/evening but we had to get up early the next day so we could go visit Aunt Delly's horse!

Having a Great Visit with Aunt Delly

I know it's been a VERY long time since I've last posted, but it's hard when you have company in town. Plus, I've been especially exhausted this past week. Jack get's so excited when we have visitors that he gets even crazier than normal! September should be fun when we have Daddy, Granny and Grandma in town. I've been continuously changing up our great room bookshelves, so I thought I would post a photo for you to see. If anyone has more ideas on how to make it look better, let me know. These are some pictures of Jack at gymnastics. He has gotten so much better at this club. They do a lot more strengthening stuff than the old place. Plus they have an older boys class so they don't just teach girly stuff at this age. It's been fun to see him do so well. Of course, a lot of time he still goofs around, trying to fall off stuff, but for the most part he's pretty good at staying on task. Last week they did the monkey bars and he LOVED it and was...

We have traveled around the SE for lacrosse tournaments in the past but this year we had the opportunity to travel to Denver, CO for one. I think it was one of my favorite. We tried to make it a family vacation as well, so we traveled in early the day before and spent some time exploring. We headed down to Rock Park in Castle Rock and did a little hiking. See that big rock in the background? Yup, the boys climbed all the way to the top. Ethan and I made it to the base of the rock while Jason, Jack and Wyatt climbed up top. Beach Days

I have impressed myself by getting these pictures posted early today by taking advantage of Ethan's nap and then Jack playing with him! Just a quick note to update everyone, today we met with Jack's preschool teacher and saw his classroom. He's very excited to start school, which I JUST now realized is NEXT Tuesday, not the Tuesday after Labor Day. Wow, it will be so strange to have him gone 3 hours, 3 days a week. But Ethan will love the one on one time and I have volunteered to be a class mom for a couple of their class parties. These are photos of our day trip to Wrightsville Beach just outside of Wilmington, NC. I really loved this area and the boys had a great time playing in the sand and water.
